Thread: Official Thread of the 2005 Season of Major League Baseball

  1. A-Rod has 10 RBI's, the last time a player drove in 10 in one game was Nomar in 1999

  2. As usual Tom Horrific stunk up the joint versus the Braves this afternoon. I totally expected it and figured he would be bad. Gives up homers to the immortal Eddie Perez and Wilson Betemit. Glavine sucks, he's a fucking has been and I wish he would just retire.

  3. I heard a Mets beat reporter on WFAN today say that the word inside the organization is Victor Diaz will be sent to AAA in order to showcase Mike Cameron to trade him. I think trading Cameron is a great idea but if I was a Mets fan I would never want to see that kid out of the lineup, sending him down is a retarded idea.

I had no idea who Victor Diaz was coming into this year but he's been really good. I think keeping Cameron wouldn't be ideal, but if it's a side of keeping Diaz in the lineup then fuck it.

  5. Kevin Brown pitches tonight, why don't we set the over/under at 5 runs he gives up in the first couple innings before he settles down then makes excuses about his fingernail after the game. Actually, it's the Angels lineup, so I'll say 6. Hopefully the Yankees lineup does the 12 run thing instead of the 1 run thing. ONE GAME this year they actually won 4-3, had to use the bullpen a lot to get tough outs, it was great.

Way to play up to your pay the last 2 days A-Rod.

The amount of DP balls the Yanks hit yesterday was just sickening.
    Pete DeBoer's Tie
There are no rules, only consequences.

  7. The Yankee lineup is sickening, because they either do nothing or score 14 runs and make you wonder why they can't score without it being a blowout. Even more confusing is that they usually blow out good pitchers, and get owned by journeymen. At least Rivera is getting some needed rest I suppose.

I'd say it sounds like a good plan the Yankees have going. You, the fan, get to be on this really insane emotional roller coaster ride for the entire season but it eventually rolls on into the division champion slot in the standings.

Now if we could just do something about these freakish losses in the postseason... the coaster seems to fall off the track there.

Well, at least if the Mets beat Washington these next few games, they can remain in third place.

The Mets are at .500 and are only 2 games back...you make it sound like they are 10 games back! They should and will beat those damn Nats then will have a 4 game series against those underperforming Phillies.

The Yankees suck. Cashman is the worst in sports and yet Steinbrenner won't fire him. Give me $200 million to spend on a team, and I am going 125-37, because I won't have an overrated hack like Jeter making a ton of money or pick up a 25 million dollar out of position underachiever like A-Rod. I'd find a whole team of guys making 8-10 million, and I would kick the shit out of everyone. Oh, and pitching comes first.
