sweet, thanks! i wish there were MMORPG demos, i dont want to fork out playing monthly fees to try out a game, or even putting up my creditcard online.

what do you mean by crafting in WoW? you refering to collecting leather/linen then make clothes out of them....going fishing, hunting, learning how to use weapons and creating wepons and such?

if yes, it's a nice touch in MMORPGS, but you are right, it does get tediouse at time.

anyways, playing online games for me is quiet shitty cuz i'm in the UAE and the ping with people in the U.S(europe is a little better) is beyond horrible, the best i ever got was 500ms!

  3. I've never played City of hero's. I've never really played any MMRPG's before either. The only reason I play matrix online was I liked the first two movies and the concept. Then the whole idea of running around inside the matrix and doing whatever just sounded cool in my book. Plus i'm tired of fantasy/medievil type games.

As for crafting stuff in matrix. You can make stuff if you want, but its not really necessary unless you go for a coder job. Everything I've got in the game was either given to me or I found doing missions. I find this kinda funny but I have like 4 different Rocawear outfits at the moment.

  4. Rtificial what is the combat like in Matrix Online? like typical fantasy/medievil of fighting(WoW for example), or is it real-time action based where you can control the fighting directly? also how big are the map/levels? in WoW the worlds are enormous.

  5. UT2k4 is 5.5 gigs here while the Matrix beta is 5....

In the world of 80 gig hard drives being considered on the small end its not a big deal, if your still running a 40 or something smaller then all I can say is..

    EVERYONE POINT AND LAUGH!!!!!!

  6. I'm on a 4.5 gig.. with 64 meg ram.

The fighting has been called a fast and modified rock paper scissors. You can either fight with guns and virus's or go in for close combat. If you go into close combat a little action tool bar pops up with your standard choices. Fast but weak, slow but strong, grapple, dodge, guns, hand to hand and run. Also the game has a hotbar at the top of the screen where you can put various items, weapons, skills for fast access and use. The hot bar helps out ALOT in combat, running around or running for your life.

The world is pretty huge, I'm not even sure I've been everywhere in beta yet. Beta only has 2 sections to run around in and both of them are HUGE. I've read online and looked at the map in game and seen that there are way more areas to come. Each area has a gang claiming turf in its smaller sections. There are various ways to travel in the matrix, taking the subway, running by foot(or building jumping if you got super jump) or taking phone booths(hardlines) which you find and add to your map. Also certain areas will be color coded to show how hostile they are to your access grant. Go in them area that are hostile and gangs will be out for you hardcore. Also agents tend to pop up and go for the kill also.

As for the game size, the beta was a gig to DL and probably a bit bigger now with updates and patches. The full game is said to be around 7+ gigs.

I may take some screen shots later and post them.
