    Definitely one of my favorites.

It's great that a show like Futurama came out so strong and kept that going for its short run. I'd rather have that than something dragging its own name through the mud for years like the poor Simpsons.

I never knew much about the internal goings-on, who was in charge of what and when they left, but everything you said definitely makes sense.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
    My Backloggery

  3. Mzo: Yeah, that episode shows how Futurama totally trumps the Simpsons in balancing flat out laughs and heartfelt, human moments. Spoiler....

Like the part at the end when Fry is shedding a tear over his long dead brother at his nephew's grave, in the background Bender is saying "I'm just three more skulls away from a mouseketeer reunion..."

Also, the breakdance scene with John Dimaggio as the beat boxer rules. I also love the Anthology of Interest installment on video games with the Space Invaders showdown. "Mwahaha. You should have aimed for where I was going to be, not where I was!" That said, I now also realize nobody does 80s nostalgia better than Futurama.

There are always politics and boneheaded executives that don't understand or recognize a good thing. Look at The Apprentice. A lot of these pedigree die-hard business folk come up with these elaborate ideas that are childish and ridiculous and they think and truly believe that it's superb.

Anyway, I've finished writing my episode, and so far only one other person has checked it over for me (for facts, stuff that's funny, jokes that may be similar to other shows like Family Guy or The Simpsons or Futurama) and I'm having a hard time getting people to just sit down and read something for me. I've never shot any written work at them before, so them avoiding the writing because it's shit isn't the problem. Anybody willing to take a look at it thus far? I've separated it into 3 acts and now need to storyboard it out and you'll get a writing credit in the credits (so if it's good or takes off and you're into writing you can use it on a resume).

Then I'll record it (I haven't a clue what the fuck I'm going to do with this) key frame it, then in between it, colour it and lastly sound effect it. I'll be putting it up on TNL for some focus shit before actually trying to market it out to sites and maybe my own.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep you guys posted. I like TNL because it's brutal, but you say what's on your mind. If something needs fixing you point it out, but if it's good you also say so.

    Haha.

I also have no idea how Dimaggio made the sound of that beat box kid making a record stop-noise when Fry challenges Yancy.

    I'll give it a look.

  7. PM me your e-mail and I'll give you ACT I to look over and make notes on.

  8. I sent two copies of ACT 1 out to two members of TNL who asked (the first two who asked). I'm going to wait until I get their feedback and changes before outsourcing for feedback some more.

  9. Is anybody done reading it yet? I'm gettin' nothing here.

  10. I had a quick read through it, but I'm waiting until finals finish up(next wednesday) before trying to come up with a decent critique/suggestions.
