Sure, but we're talking about Nickelodeon, here.

  2. I've seen all but maybe one or two episodes of this series, and I must say, it's very tasty. It's incredibly amusing and a pleasant surprise amidst all the other crap I'm forced to watch because of my stepsiblings never turning Nick off. It gets cheesy every now and then, but I'm really impressed.

Fun way to blow Sunday mornings, too. They played eight episodes in a row a few weeks ago so that caught me up to speed, and it seems like they drop a few more re-runs I miss every Sunday around 10am-12pm. Good stuff.

And for the record, Nick does make DVDs of their shows. Some of the cartoons have episodes released, as do the older series' such as Pete and Pete.

  3. Last week I was a little dissapointed because it seemed like they were losing some of their continuity, which made it feel like just another cartoon, and not a fake anime. But man the latest episode may be the sweetest one yet, and makes up for the misadventure type stuff big time. I can't get over how well animated the fight scenes are, and how it looks like they're using real kung fu when they bend. This show is ultimatly excellent.

    Dammit.

  5. Don't know if any of you guys kept up with it, but they just finished the first season on Friday night (caught part of the re-run this morning). It wasn't a bad finale, but since I missed some I'm grabbing the rest of the episode.

I stopped watching for a while, but they had a day-long marathon of episodes over Thanksgiving and I was stuck at my grandmother's, so I ended up seeing every episode I had missed. Not a bad series.

  6. I usually catch it but I thought they only played it every other friday. Oh well I'm downloading a torrent right now. But yeah this series is very good indeed, and I'm excited to find out how prince zuko is gonna get back at that one general.

  7. The last episode (technically two, but it's 48 minutes between the two and it's a part 1/2 deal. I consider it one) brings up a lot of stuff to set up for the next season. They give a lot of hints into General Iro's (?) family situation, and a lot of shit on Prince Zuko.

Remember the sequence that showed how Zuko got his face all messed up in the duel against his father? If you recall, there was a girl cheering right near general Iro when he looked away as Zuko got burned. The chick is Zuko's sister. Zuko brings it up in the final episode that he always sucked at firebending, and his sister is some great prodigy. She makes a very small appearance at the last bit of the episode that pretty much sets her up to be the next villain.

Anybody know when the next part is coming out? I'm hoping it's not that long between seasons, but it'll probably be a while before they finish up the next set for release.

I saw this show one afternoon while we were bumming around and it truly is good. I was so surprised.

  9. Wow, just finished watching this episode and I gotta say that this show is becoming epic. And with Zuko and his uncle falling even more out of favor with the fire lord, that should push him even more unto the side of Aang and the gang. Oh yeah great observation there Nomi I would have never noticed that, and it's an even greater example of the awesome writing of this show.

  10. This show has just blown me away. Best thing I have seen since Samurai jack.

Hopefully Nick won't cut this short.
