Thread: Avatar: The Last Airbender

  1. Ugh, live action? The day America decided they don't want traditional animation in their theatres was sad indeed

  2. I still need to watch the finale of season 2 v.v

  3. Paramount confirmed the pact with Shyamalan just hours after Fox Filmed Entertainment announced it is greenlighting James Cameron's "Avatar," the director's first feature since "Titanic."

Although they may have the same name, the two projects have nothing to do with each other in terms of storylines. Cameron's is a sci-fi action-adventure that he's been working on for 11 years.
THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT? WHERE'S ALITA?! I swear to the gods that's what Avatar better be.

Of course it's a Cameron sci-fi movie and I'll probably love it even if it's not, but I'm just saying.

    [edit] It's not. Asshole.

  4. wtf

  5. An Alita movie would admittedly suck, though. It doesn't translate well to live action, what with the totally unbelievable fighting going on. Also, Alita works better as a long term episodic story, it's not something that would compress well at all.

He was talking about doing a series of movies. And I have a lot of faith in Cameron, despite his random Titanic obsession for years.

  7. Theres a live action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie being made by Shyalaman. The 'Avatar' movie by Cameron is unrelated.

  8. #69
    correct. lrn2read. That's worse btw.

If you're talking to me, not only was it mentioned in the quote I posted but I linked to IMDB with the obviously-not-Airbender synopsis, and that was the whole reason I was questioning it being about Alita in the first place. So yeah, I know.
