Thread: Top Gear

  1. It's all in who they get for the hosts. If it's done right, it'll be a great show. It'd be cool to have Top Gear and Top Gear US.

  2. On all accounts I do want to believe you, but the touch of British/European style humor from the current hosts really made a bond to what makes this show so appealing. I just hate to see it go like this and cast a couple of half-wits in order to ruin the format.

Think on this, if Hyneman and Savage were cut from Mythbusters, would you watch it anymore?

Ya I think I might be persuaded.

Ive read that it was shot in HD will be aired on BBC HD for the first time ever, so here is hoping the scene will release a MKV or a WMV-HD rip.
So I DL'd this MKV thing. What codec pack do I need to dl to make it work?

    thx

  5. The special was great, especially with Capt. Slow bitching during the opening of how he did not want to be there doing this crap.

I can't see Clarkson ever giving in to shooting a full schedule in the States given how much he rags on the country. Though, I wouldn't mind the chance to apply for Hammond's job because it's only a matter of time before he takes himself out for good. Until then, maybe they could get off the arses and put out season sets instead of the compilation DVDs. The newest one was pretty good, but I'd rather have some official discs rather than watching DVDr9s with AVI files on the TV.

  6. BBC America to air the complete 1hr long Top Gear episodes! They're starting with season 8.

No more downloading overseas episodes from the net. No more American Top Gear with no recognizable connection to the real deal. Just the same one-hour episodes they get in the UK, piped straight into our homes via BBCA. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May engaging in stunts and challenges, celebrity guests trying their hand at lapping in identical, moderately priced vehicles, and The Stig wringing the most from the latest crop of hot hatches to supercars -- it's all there. The new episodes will start airing August 20th at 8PM ET. We can't wait.

  7. Sweet.

  8. Series 10 starts on October 7th!

  9. Sweet. Now if only I had cable.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

  10. The episodes on BBCA are edited to fit comercials, cropped to show full screen, and some of the music is replaced, but its a good time killer.

    Ill keep downloading, thx.
