Thread: Now Playing

  1. Just hit this thread up later. That's why I made it. It's something that had to be done. I don't believe Morgan Freeman's ever won an Oscar before.

Yes. Lots of memorable scenes and the twist did deliver. I was just concerned because apparently lots of the director's other movies have twists too. Give it a watch though; it was awesome.

  3. JAMIE FOXX JUST WON BEST ACTOR!!!!!!!!!

  4. People watch that stuff?

  5. I love to support pompous causes.

Both are excellent movies, but I liked Sympathy more, it felt more sad and dramatic, and the end was just brutal.

It well deserved it. Even though I liked Shrek 2 as well. And Shark Tales was ASS.

    Ok, What did I watched.

In the short sessions between real life and WOW, I got to watch 2 movies past week:

District 13 (Baliue 13) - French action movie produced by Luc Besson. Its pretty much one non stop wild ride, in the style of Ong Back with some kick ass fighiting and stunts.
Story is just there to have 2 main heroes to get from point A to point B and kick alot of ass in the process, and it was very successfull at that. If it ever comes to US, give it a rent.

The League of Extraordinary Gentelmen - I still love this movie. As graphic novel adaptaion its very flawed, but a flashy fun sfx movie, it kicks ass. Loved Sean Connery and Co in it, its style and action it had.

Next on the list to watch: Cube 0 which I rented and still havent had time to watch it

  9. I love the Shawshank Redemption. It's easily one of my favourite movies.
The story is just so great and well written. It's one of those rare movies that make you just feel happy when it's over.

This weekend I watched the Count of Monte Cristo, which was pretty fun. I liked it but the whole revenge thing was waaay too quick.
I also watched Donnie Brasco which was another awesome movie. I loved the character that Depp played quickly becoming a member of what he was trying to fight.
The end was really sad too, because you knew exactly what was happening and they didn't even have to show you. Too bad it used the last frame is text ending that I really don't like. It always feels like a cop-out.

Next on my list are Braveheart and Godfather Pt. 1

  10. Sphere: This is one of those movies that always eludes you. I finally watched it yesterday, and man oh man, what a wasted oppertunity. The movie started out really cool and compelling, but just fell apart.

Identity: Fantastic movie that has some excellent plot twists.

Confidence: Good movie, but the ending stunk. Ed Burns is really cool though.

The Matrix Trilogy: HBO has been running these to death lately. Of course Matrix 1 is a classic, I still think part 2 is great, but 3 is still weak.

Clerks: This gets better the more I watch it.

The Back to the Future Trilogy: I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is just might be the best movie trilogy ever. They never get old, they have a ton of quotable lines, the characters are great, there's an excellent sense of continuity, every time you watch it you notice something new. Fantastic movies.
