  1. The back to the future trilogy is such an amazing one, but I don't think it beats The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I've never seen Clerks, but everything I've seen of Kevin Smiths work has been mediocre or run of the mill. Until I see Clerks I'm assuming he's a man who has been wrongfully credited with doing groundbreaking work.

A few days ago I watched Saving Private Ryan twice(once at night and once very very early in the morning). And last night I watched I, Robot, Gangs of New York, and City By The Sea. All crap, basically. With the exception of Saving Private Ryan, of course. That's probably my favorite movie ever made so far.

    Hudsucker Proxy, at least.
Actually if you want to see Tim Robbins at his best, get Bob Roberts. It was written ad produced by Tim and his brother and it's easily one of his best moviee. It's centered around a folk singing right-wing pollitician and the documentary being made about his run for the presidency (IIRC.) As far as mockumentary films go, its second only to This is Spinal Tap.

  4. I watched Cube Zero and was pleasently suprised at how good it was.

I totally forgot that he was in Mistic River too.

The last movie I watched was Winged Migration, a documentary on bird migration I borrowed the DVD of. I know that sounds really boring but the scenery from around the world is amazing and it's actually interesting as long as you're in the mood to watch a movie with very little talking.

  7. Sword in the Moon: Good action flick from Korea.

Taxi: eh, okay movie but Gisele is a hottie!

This is what I think of when I hear Tim Robbins. Well, either that or Shawshank but obviously you can't reference Shawshank for Shawshank.

Such an amazing set of movies, how I adore them so.

I've currently watched nothing since Constantine, at least in terms of movies. At some point soon I'll be sitting down to see Unforgiven and I've had Casshern awaiting my attention for about a month or so now, and I really need to at least check those off my list of things to watch.

  9. Checked out Dogtown and Z Boys which was a pretty cool skating documentary. But the directors latest work, Riding Giants, is quite a bit better. I think Ong Bak or Manchurian Canidate is next.

  10. Ive seen the following movies recently:

Dodgeball - liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
Moulin Rouge - didnt like it at all.
The Notebook - sappy and chick-flicky, but well-done. Watch with your SO.
Sideways - loved it. Must see as far as I am concerned.
Ray - loved it. Must see as far as I am concerned.
21 Grams - Didnt really like it. Im not really feeling movies that display little more than angered, burnt-out husks of humanity, and especially not ones done with pretentious and unnecessary out-of-chronology editing.

I also have a copy of Big Fish lying around.

IBTN. He just makes really good flicks for teenagers and stoners. And those people talk really loud.
