anyway I just finally got a chance to play this a bit played about 90 minutes into it and I have to say the begining of the game is really well done
there are some frustrating parts, and some things I don't think work so well but overall a good game
from the sounds of it they kinda drop the ball at the end of the game which seems like a big shame
gonna have to pick this one up soon and finish it

I watched my friend play it for 3 hours and two of those I was bored out of my mind.
His brother played it and beat it in a little over 6 hours.
To be honest, it looks like DMC with a very high production budget. And the big appeal is the nudity and blood. The first is done so ugly and generic its not even neat unless you're an undersexed social recluse or 15. The second gets old after the first half hour of play. Although it has a very robust fighting system...which you will use over and over and over and...
You get the drift.
It's worth a rental imo but game of the year? My ass.
Your ability to pass gameplay judgements on games you didn't actually play is astounding.Originally Posted by Hero

annendum: Yes the game is epic. And the world design is so flawless and beautiful that I found more enjoyment from admiring the architecture than watching the action (or playing when I got my mits on it). That's not the point of a videogame though. You shouldn't have good game elements crammed at you ad nausea or have the action flow broken by tedious puzzle/platforming antics. If this is the bloodiest, most carnal game ever, it shouldn't stop the massacre only to have Kratos tip toe or push boxes and crossbows. Likewise, with a world so epic, it doesn't help to move at a snail's pace; being forced to fight before moving on every 10 minutes or so slows down pacing A LOT.
Aesthetically God of War is marvelous but as a game it feels unbalanced.
Forgetting to mention I've played it too makes little difference in the arguement. If an action game can't even interest you on a passive level, something isn't right.Originally Posted by Kano on the Phone
And yes, from playing it, GoW is as repetitive as it looks. Just with more button pressing.
If there was nothing to break up the action then there would just be complaints that it's too repetitive. You can't please everyone.
Nah, but you can please me, which means more than anythingOriginally Posted by Rumpy

Boo to that.
Valgar, using two fingers for an action game has worked well for me before, and I thought it could here. Unfortunately, that ended up not being the case. It worked out well since I learned more about the most efficient way of attacking, and I enjoy experimenting with different control methods anyway.
I'm hooked on this demo, and will try to get this game by the end of the month, if I have any dinero left after some Lupin purchases. If I don't, I'll just get it after it hits $35, which shouldn't take too long. Kano and Valgar, STFU.

This just shows you have no capacity for enjoying an action game. I'd hope you turned your nose up at DMC as well, otherwise I think we can just shut the book on your critique.Originally Posted by Hero
