I had no problems getting a grasp on fighting that boss in the first five minutes. You must suck too.![]()
By the time you fight a final boss you should have mastered the fighting techniques of a game, and if the boss throws nothing new at you (which Ares didn't) you should be able to hold your own.Originally Posted by Glass Joe
When a game with a broken fighting system throws a boss with a lot of health, and attacks which are difficult to block at you in the first five minutes before you have any idea how to play it makes sense some people would have problems with it. I know like five people in real life that couldn't beat the boat chick first try, but went through the rest of the game without must trouble.
Anyway, stop trying to connect PoP2 with my gaming ability. That's like saying someone is a bad driver becuase their car won't start. PoP2 is a shitty, broken game, and not being able to do well with it's fighting means nothing. GoW on the other hand has one of the best combat systems from any action game this generation, and the final boss throws nothing new at you in terms of combat.
Whatever you have to tell yourself. You really need to not let it get your panties in a bunch.
Before the Ares fight, there were no other enemies in the game who had unblockable combo style attacks with that kind of range (+ Kratos' limited movement during the fight) ,no other tug-of-war style matches, in other fights you had magic at your disposal, and while the final sword controlled similar to the Artemis Blade it still sucked. And while a lot of times I had Ares on the ropes, it would only take a couple of quick hits on his part to tip the scale in his favor and eventually win the battle.I think when I finally beat him, I had somewhat of a lucky streak of him rarely busting out the spine attack which gave me the edge.Originally Posted by Opaque
I guess if I had 10000 hours in Halo 2, I wouldnt suck as a gamer, but some of us dont have that luxury so I have to draw upon other past gaming feats for skill. If you want to point fingers and compare E-penis' than create a thread for it, and well see who has dominated the worst of the worst game wise, across systems.
The combat is solid, sure, but it's hardly "one of the best." The combat is pretty rudimentary and shallow.Originally Posted by Opaque

So where does that figure into GoW, since they took away a lot of your abilities and for the first time placed you up against someone that could counterattack without repercussion?Originally Posted by Opaque
