Thread: Midnight Showings

  1. Midnight Showings

A lot of the time highly anticipated movies play at 12:01 the night before they "officially" come out. It's a no-brainer with stuff like Harry Potter or The Matrix, but sometimes lesser movies get a midnight show also (I saw a midnight showing of "The Scorpion King" for instance). Thing is, without actually going to the theatres, I usually find it pretty hard to learn of these midnight shows.

They never seem to be listed on Moviefone or Hollywood.com, and employees are usually totally clueless. Sometimes the only midnight showings are all the way up in Whitemarsh, and I don't want to drive up there unless I know for sure.

So I ask, is there anyplace online that you guys learn about early or midnight showings? I'm tryin' to see The Ring Two on Thursday night.

  2. As far as where I live is concerned, Moviefone.com always has them listed. They even have 8:00 showings the nights before if my memory serves me correctly.

I thought this thread was about the awesome midnight showings for cult movies. Not crappy hollywood schlockbusters.

A couple weeks ago I saw a midnight showing of the Princess Bride. It was sweet seeing it on the big screen again, but also made me kinda sad because of all the nostalgia.

    Landmark Sunshine?

I think they had it too. Wait, do you live in NYC?

Rodents of unusual size? I don't believe they exist. *RARRR!!*

  7. The local newspaper, usually has listings of all the showtimes. Get the Sunday paper.

  8. I'll have to travel back in time to get this weeks Sunday paper, but thanks for the advice.

You know, once you get used to it it's really nice here. I mean, I wouldn't build a summer home here or anything but it's actually quite pleasant.

Wednesday's paper is just as good. Go to the entertainment section and most theaters will have their movie listings for the week.
