I would consider Colin McRae fair game, definitely. Colin 2.0 is a hell of a long time ago, though.Originally Posted by diffusionx

I am predicting this game blows everyone's socks off.
It could be average, and it would blow GT4 away, so that's worth something.Originally Posted by Master
Wait now who is the fanboy?Originally Posted by Master
I would pick this game up in a second if this is possible. I know that Logitech and MS love each other. So quoted in hopes that someone might know an answer.Originally Posted by MVS
I havent really had time to get into more recent racing games outside of PGR2 which I played about a 10th of what I wanted to. Arent they up to like, Colin McRae 5? Heh. Rallisport Challenge 2 is an amazing game too but I dont know if Id call it a "simulation racer".I would consider Colin McRae fair game, definitely. Colin 2.0 is a hell of a long time ago, though.
Racing games are probably my favorite genre overall.

A long time ago and still probably the best one they've madeOriginally Posted by Andy
2005 is pretty good, and probably has better driving physics, but the game still feels much less perfect to me. And I love Colin McRae, but it's not really simulation in the same way that Gran Turismo and Forza are. CMR is somewhere between Gran Turismo and Need for Speed in the world of rally racing.
Yeah. I pretty much admitted that in the first post. I will be irrational fanboyish about this game, but I also think it really is that good.Originally Posted by piku
I personally liked Toca and Toca 2. I didn't like the story mode, though it was a nice change of pace, but the racing was fairly solid. The problem was it seemed like a very polish free port with bells and whistles thrown in at the last minute. Also, it seemed like people played it online for a week and moved on, which sucked.Originally Posted by Andy
I didn't finish the story mode, but I don't remember that game having very many cars at all. Does anybody know how many cars it had?
PS: I loved the way you could damage your car and it would respond, but this has really been fully realized in Forza. Beyond cosmetic damage, the cars really do change as you mess them up.
I believe Toca 2 only had about 30 cars but I agree, fantastic game.
I hoped to love TOCA 2 but I hated the constantly forced switching of racing types. Some of the racing was just boring (like the big rig crap), and the game never really gives you a chance to even practice racing a new vehicle type they throw at you.
