It looks exactly like the japanese box formatted to the brazillian SMS box layout.

The image quality was more of what concerned me, it looked like someone threw it together in Photoshop and shat out a shitty quality jpeg, but maybe it's just a hideous scan. I have, however, heard that the game exists numerous times from SMS collectors, but I've never seen anything to indicate that besides this, and this didn't convince me much more.

It's not a photoshop. Could be some home-made hack or something. Or maybe it's real. But the screens on the back are apparently from the GG version, which is suspicious. I think the screens on the back of the Headdy box might have been from the GG one too, though.

A dynamite headdy cart did finally surface, so we know that one is real. It's actually very good, too. It's not a hack-job GG auto-port like most of the late Tec Toy games, but an honest-to-god proper port with full screen graphics and a new intro and stuff. Supposedly it was done by Sega for the European market but never released, and then picked up by Tec Toy.

The sad part about the fake is that honestly, if they released the game, and it was just the same game, perhaps with a few gameplay additions here and there, I'd be perfectly willing to make the purchase. Even if it was the same game verbatim, I'd buy it.

I'm one of the biggest Gunstar Fans all time. If it turns out to be the same game I'll be super pissed.

It'd make me buy a PSP. That makes me simulatneously happy and sad. So, I'm basically indifferent and confused.

And ditto that the PSP is going to lead to a lot of annoying mock up fakes 'n rumours. I'm sure Treasure will use a different art scheme and all new characters anyways if Ikaruga is any indication of when they do a sequel/"followup."

HAN still works there, that art style isn't going anywhere.

Yeah. And more importantly Nami and Yaiman still work there so the gameplay is sure to be as good as ever, too. Yaiman has an especially good track record as of late.

While I'm not expecting to see E-Suzuki's somber (but in a good way) style of artwork in GSH, it is true that Treasure hasn't yet made two games that look similar to each other. Ikaruga and Advance Guardian Heroes are distant sequels to their predecessors, with barely any common themes or characters.

According to a post at Gaming Age, Gunstar Super Heroes will be a GBA game.
