I wonder who did the art?
You'd be suprised. It was done by the Arizona Cardinals own, Kurt Warner.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

I disagree. It's definately not HAN on the site, and it's probably not him doing the sprites either. I think it might be Hisashi Fujita, if I had to guess. Actually it's probably someone new. In-game it's probably Dad Oginon.

    LOL. POTY.

  4. I'm assuming whoever did the art for Advance Guardian Heroes did this art. Just compare to the face portraits at AGH's official site. Was it not HAN who did the AGH art (which I personally prefer)?

Han did, in fact, do AGH's art, but HAN has a very distinct style, especially in the way he does faces, and GSH doesn't appear to match up in that regard. The gundam influence on the legs is very unlike HAN, too.

I'm revising my guess on who it is to Naoki "Naokiman" Kitagawa, actually. He did the art for Astroboy and Ippo (though obviously he didn't design the characters), the mecha design for Bangai-O, etc. It definately more resembles his work than HAN's.

Why does this game look and flow so much better than AGH?

I mean, I enjoyed it, but it has nowhere near the polish that this one looks to bring from that amazing video.

This should have been made for the Game Gear a long time ago.

The flow you could chalk up to a different director. Graphically... Again I think the sprite artist is probably different. But AGH's weak background art was really puzzling to me, because most of the artists were the same as Astroboy's.

Honestly, AGH was sort of a fluke. Ippo is one of the best looking games on the GBA, especially in terms of the sprite work. Astroboy looked great. Even Tiny Toons was very well animated and had very good sprite work.

Yeah, I love Ippo and Astro Boy, I was just very confused about AGH.

Just wondering if you knew something about time constraints, lack of funds, whatever. There has to be a reason.

It did have a pretty short development cycle, but so did Ippo and Astroboy (Tiny Toons was in the shop forever though, oddly enough). So maybe it could have benefitted from a bit more time in the shop, but that can't be the only reason. I think it might have had a bit to do with HAN having not directed a game in 5 years or done sprites in close to 8. One of the background guys was new, too. That's all I can think of.
