that's not a valid reason, PC are powerfull, yet they have a shity slow web browser called Internet Explorer. Now if someone makes a 3rd party web browser(like firefox or opera) for the PSP, i'm sure they'll do a much better job than sony.

Like yours is? The PSP runs at 333mhz and has like what? 24mb of ram or something while a PC can be over 1Ghz with over 512mb. How you going to compare the PSP with a PC? Thats like me comparing my Impala with your tricycle. Which one is faster and bigger? If you were comparing a PSP with like a PDA or another handheld with web support or with near identical specs, than I can see the difference. You can even compare it with the Tmobile Sidekick. The web on that is slow as well but I dont expect it to be like a PC.

Since when was the PSPs browser suppose to open pages with a blink of an eye or replace the PC? When was its browser even the center of attention. The PSP is for its gaming. The browser is just an extra bonus or perk.

Regardless of the browser, it still wont be fast. Its the technical specs of the systems capabilities. You can have firefox on two computers, a 3Ghz w/2gb ram and a 486DX w/32mb ram. Does that mean the webpage would load faster on the 486 as it would on the 3ghz? No.

my god, aren't you the little PSP whore!

anyways, my Nokia smartphone has a 220Mhz processor, 10MB internal RAM, 3G(UMTS, 384Mbps) and Opera web browser for mobiles phones, and it still pulls pages faster than the PSP web browser.

my point is, Sony just needs a better browser to make web surfing on the PSP enjoyable!

compared to other browsers yes it's slow. not slow as in snail slow, but it lags behind in pulling pages compared to others.

Well this is a gaming system, not a PDA, computer or smartphone. The closest you'll get to other webbrowsers is homebrew and even those wont be as fast. If you're looking for Opera or Firefox to be on the PSP, you have a better chance of being the next Bill Gates.

This is Sony. You think they care? You think any company cares? Sony has their head so far up their ass in trying to prevent homebrew that dont care what others think. My cousins boyfriend upgraded his PSP to 2.6 thinking that it would clear the memory problem that you had but it didnt. If and only if Sony does try to make the webbrowser faster, its probably when they release LocationFree. But like I said, its based on the system capabilities and i guess at the same time the amounts of information being sent to the PSP.

  8. How is the sound quality of the PSP when using it as an MP3 player?

MP3 sound quality on the system is great as long as you have decent bitrate/properly ripped tracks and good earphones of course.
