I found the beta floating around online and I got ahold of it, but I'm not wanting to connect to the internet with it on my PSP. Just wondering what you all are thinking.
Dude, do you plan on buying ANY games for this system or are u just gonna pirate everything? Get a job man, seriously. Sell some old crap games, whatever. No offense intended.

  2. We are guessing that the 2.01 update was a ‘hotfix’ to clear the exploitable toc2rta libtiff exploit in the PSP’s photo viewer. Expect this 2.50 fix to be a more stable wall against letting hackers run homebrew applications and games on their PSPs in many ways. On the other hand, it's easy to speculate that 2.50 could be easier to hack than 2.01 now that copyright video can be played on a memory stick, and the location free player has been added. Those two programs could open up potentially exploitable loopholes. Expect future games to require the 2.50 update to play, and the rest of the usual hubbub we’ve seen with previous security patches.

UPDATE: The Japanese PSP homepage has been updated to include the 2.50 update. So like with the 2.0 update, it is available only to the Japanese first, though loading the 2.0 JP update on US PSPs had no negative effects.

    UPDATE: Final Changelog is in:

    FEATURES IN 2.50 INCLUDE:

    - [LocationFree Player] has been added as a feature under [Network].
    - [Auto-Select] and [Unicode (UTF-8)] have been added as options to [Encoding] under [View] in the [Internet Browser] menu bar.
    - [Text Size] and [Display Mode] settings of the [Internet Browser] can now be saved.
    - The input history of online forms accessed through the [Internet Browser] can now be saved.
    - Copyright-protected video can now be played under [Video]. (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
    - [Set via Internet] has been added as an option to [Date & Time Settings] under [Settings]
    - WPA-PSK (AES) has been added as a security method under [Network Settings].
    - Korean input mode has been added to the on-screen keyboard.

Now, it makes some people think whether they want to upgrade or now. Me personally..I rather keep my ISOs.

  3. Yeah, not a damn thing.

  4. Bandit, from what you have seen/read, do you think the downgrader will eventually work with 2.50?

Hard to say considering I dont hack or stuff. But now with LocationFree and the ability to watch videos, I think there will be a way. It probably wont be right away, but in a couple of months. People will start to dissect it slowly. Once something is found, it will open the flood gates.

Not offened at all. I thought it would just be nice for me to say that I own already (let's see, 2 PSPs, 4 $50 games, 10 $40 games, 3 UMD Movies, 2 1gig sticks, a 256 stick, plenty of screen covers, 2 (now 4) USB cables, a Logitech case, two of those hard carrying cases) around $1200 dollars worth of stuff for the PSP ALONE. Hell, I've got more games for my Xbox than I do my PS2 and I've had my PS2 since Christmas '01 (I got my Xbox around January). I do not see the problem with me grabbing and port of a game I already own or a friggin' beta game. Just thought I would get my point across about that.

    Tedzero Browser v2.0 for PSP

Tedzero has released a very cool program for the PSP called the Tedzero Browser, v2.0. This program allows a user to (via WiFi) log into their computer from anywhere on the internet and copy files from a computer running the FileServer to your PSP.

To install, first setup your PSP to have a static IP address in the Network Settings -> Infrastructure mode. If you’re a first timer at this, the easiest way is to create a new infrastructure connection and enter in the name of the connection (remember the name too!) Once done, you will be in a menu called ‘WLAN Settings’ to enter in your SSID. Select scan on the bottom and choose your WiFi router’s name. Next on ‘Address Settings’ choose Easy. Keep pressing right to save the settings and then it will test the settings. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure that the Internet Connection succeeded. If so, then you’re connected and write down the information it gives you. Now create a new connection and instead of Easy ‘Address Settings,’ use Custom and then manual ‘IP Address Setting.’

Now install the premade PSP firmware 1.50 Tedzero browser to your PSP. Move both ‘TEDZEROCopier_v2.0’ and ‘TEDZEROCopier_v2.0%’ folders to /PSP/GAME on your memory stick. Copy CONFIG1.TXT to your PSP in the root directory, for example: F:/ Now edit the CONFIG1.TXT file in the archive so it will have the correct connection name for your PSP after RCON= , for example: ;RCON= Connection;.

Next find out the IP address on your computer. An easy way is to get into the command prompt on your computer by clicking on Start -> Run -> and type ‘cmd’ or ‘command’. Once inside the command prompt, type ‘ipconfig’ and remember that number. That is your computer (the File Server’s) IP address.

Lastly, run FileServer.exe on your PC and then the Tedzero Browser on your PSP. Enter in your computer’s IP address in the Tedzero Browser and press X to select the connection wait about one to two minutes and you’ll be browsing. Controls:

    - Use Up and Down to select folders/files on PC.
    - Use X to Get a file from PC or go into selected folder.
    - Use Left and Right to select folders/files on PSP.
    - Use O to Delete a file on PSP or go into a folder
    - Use Left and Square together to exit out.
    Sick.

If you'd pay attention, there IS a working downgrader from 2.0..but if you're at 2.01 already then you're SOL.
