That would be sick if it is true (as you said), I have a friend who could help me do it. Anyways, I bought Battlefront II last night so time to get cracking on using the downgrader.![]()
If you're still at 2.0, you can downgrade and upgrade to whenever you want. Its just a hassle of having to do it all the time. But if you're playing a game that requires 2.00 such as GTA, its either going through that process of upgrading and downgrading or just stick with homebrew.Originally Posted by Dylan1CC
You know whats even more funny, supposedly a group called Team DST is in the final stages of releasing a modchip for the PSP. No soldiering but a couple of wire configurments is needed. Everything you need is included in the package. Only 100 will be made and will only be sold on eBay starting at $22.99 on November 19. It bypasses ALL firmware updates so you can upgrade to 2.5 and still be able to play homebrew as well as all regions UMDs (watch JPN porn on your US PSP).
Now, this is all cool and nice, but on eBay?! Not to mention 100 of them starting at $22.99? Ummmm..they need to show some video and proof. If not, people will be buying so bullshit hoax and I'm going to laugh at them.We have received an email from Team DST to let us know about a mod chip they’ve been working on for the last couple of months. He let us know that the chip does not require any soldering, but you will need to replace some of the wires on the motherboard and everything is included in the package. With this chip you can play any region coded UMD on your PSP, along with homebrew regardless of your PSP's firmware version.
The picture above displays one of their technical specialists circuit checking the final prototype. The first batch of these chips will only be sold on ebay and they plan to make 100 chips, with more planned if there a success.
The Mod Chip Has The following features:
– Full control Input through the psp’s screen and controls
– Separated From The motherboard
– Custom Interface
– Built In 88mhz Processor
– Dual Memory Cores (allowing For expansion)
– Software completely open source
– Completely internal
– Allows play of import UMD films
– Complete override of software on the psp
1.Homebrew Mode Only Allows software to be run off memory stick
2.Normal Mode Allows of chip’s default features and signed code on the memory stick
– CPU Clocking allows speeds of up to 365mhz which may damage the CPU so we don’t recommend it
– And through an optional cable you can connect a USB hard drive to the chip requires you to use the chips own software you can not use it directly with the psp’s firmware
– Full Instructions
– Requires One standard watch battery which will be included in the package
The first batch will be on sale on EBay for $22.99 USD starting November 19th. We’ll be sure to keep you informed with more news on this as we get it.

While extracting the MPHdowngrader.zip contents to my mem stick (the small archive which has the tiff file the instr say I need to put in photo folder?), Norton said "Trojan found: trojan.pspbrick successfully removed."![]()
Soooooo...which one is safe? Both are linked on pspupdates and I thought they were both needed since on has a tiff file which the intructions in the text file and on sites i googled said i needed.

That in particular is why I don't fuck with that stuff yet.
Yeah, yikes. I might not be either now unless someone can send me a safe set of files.
Actually, there is nothing wrong with the overflow.tif. Its just that there was a file that bricks the PSP and Norton officially called it a trojan. Norton doesnt scan the files. It looks for the names of the file. So anything named overflow.tif will be considered a trojan even if its not.Originally Posted by Dylan1CC
I suggest disabling the virus scanner. Redownload the downgrader. Extract and copy all files to your memory stick. The one I uploaded on mobiledeviant.com (DOWNLOADS section) has the 1.50 and 2.00 firwmare.
If you dont believe me, make a new file whether its a .txt or .jpg. Than name it to overflow with the new extension .tif. Scan it with Norton and it will say its a trojan even though there is nothing in that file.
I'm using the 32mb stick that came with the PSP for all my downgrading, pixel checking and all other hacks on there.
I've done it and it is safe.Originally Posted by Chux

I uploaded this and is the same file I used to downgrade. Cant get any safer than that. Just remember to disable Norton when extracting cuz it will find the overflow.tif as a trojan even if its not.
OK, just that "pspbrick" seems like a pretty darn specific name and that it would do what it says, ya know? I will download from the link you provided, thanks man.

Thats what Norton and the PSP scene dubbed it as. Its for your PSP and it bricks it..hence the name "pspbrick"Originally Posted by Dylan1CC
If there's a function in it that bricks my PSP then why would i want to put the tiff file in my mem stick? EDIT: What I mean is, I just downloaded your files and it is still showing as psp.brick. If you say it could brick my PSP...well 'nuff said.Originally Posted by bandit
