Thread: Everything you need for the PSP such as guides, programs, emulation, etc is all HERE!

  1. UMD Emulator (previously known as Fast Loader) does not trick. UMD Emulator bypasses the firmware updates. In other words, it wont ask you to update inorder to play. SXT Version Changer is the one that tricks the PSP into thinking its the latest firmware. Unfortunately, with new games coming out such as GTA, SOCOM, etc. (it varies), it requires 2.0 files inorder to play. WIthout a 2.0 or higher, you're out of luck if you want to use your 1.5 firmware.
    So even with UMD Emulator, I'm SOL.
    PSN = knarlockk
    Steam= kevinb150

  2. Hmmmm. Unless someone figures out a mod that bypasses all future firmwares, more and more it looks like I am just going to have to give up and get a Gamepark for my future portable emu needs.

    Anyways, today I got my 2 gig stick and am gonna load it up with the Wipeout classic expansion packs, MST3K and Godzilla flcks.

  3. I hear a rumor that Sony might cease hostilities to homebrew apps in the near future. Any truth to it?

    Might tip the scales as to if I'll eventually get a PSP.

    How much did you pay for it, and where did you get it?

    Where'd you hear this rumour?

    A friend who pays far more attention to PSP-related stuff than I do.

    That will never happen. Sony will never even announce such a thing.

    Your friend isnt really paying much attention than cuz he doesnt know what hes talking about. Ceasing homebrew is like saying, lets all pirate!

    When you allow homebrew, you're allowing pirating. You're asking for loss in money and Sony is trying to stop that like any other company.

  8. I just think it's a nice pipe dream. People will figure out how to pirate regardless.

  9. OK, I am using fanjita's eboot 2.0 loader and can get Nester, PSPGenesis and a few homebrew shmups to run fine. But the program hangs and freezes like crazy, I have to reboot my PSP a lot before it will open and plus, I cannot get it to work with my Neo emulator for some reason ( Neocd v. 0.5)

    edit: OK, my Neo CD emulator opened but I had to reboot twice before it would load without crashing the system. Better than nothing I suppose.

    EDIT: To update, I was able to open my Neo emulator once. When I tried to open Metal Slug, it just went to a black screen and then I had to reboot. I haven't even been able to load the Neo menu again since then. My NES and Genny games load and run great but the program still crashes my PSP 8/10 times..
