I also dont understand the Doom 3 backlash... it was one of the ten best games of last year, easy.

As for shitty games... no, I havent played any since I quit EB. The worst game I ever played was Carmageddon 64, though.

DOOM 3 was boring after the initial shock. It was like a horror movie that relied entirely on cheap scares.

I'm currently playing the first ECW game on Dreamcast. Wrestling games have come a long way, but it was 99 cents, and it's ECW, so I play it.

Doom 3 had to live in the shadow of the original Doom. Personally I knew it wouldn't be the revolution the first game was so I wasn't too disappointed. There's no way it deserves a spot in the top ten of last year though. In the FPS genre alone Half-Life 2, Halo 2, UT2k4, Riddick, and maybe Far Cry were all better.

but honestly, give Doom 3 a whirl with the Classic Doom mod. It's the best of both worlds and seriously fucking incredible, if they finish that mod it'll be quite possibly the best single-player FPS ever.
