Thread: Unreal Tournament 3 (Titan Pack March 5!)

  1. I already have most of the games that come with the Unreal package, so I figured I'd just rather save the $30 and wait the extra day or two.

I'm down for UT '99, though.

  2. I'm down for UT99 whenever I'm around... pretty busy this weekend though. Play some vanilla DM or CTF, fuck snipe.

If you aren't going to play snipe, then why play UT99 at all?

  4. I'm down for whatever.. I'd rather play some mixed, snipe and IG gets a bit old. Set up a UT3 server, use the replace weapons mutator and throw in all snipers.

I wasn't being serious. We can play whatever. wEEman and I just wasted most of our highschool years playing sniper arena. The other half was wasted player Wolf:ET.

OH, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to getting the UT3 map editor. I made a decent UT2k4 map back in the day, and it was fun making, albeit a bit tedious. I got UT3 off of Steam and there doesn't seem to be a map editor with it and I've been unlucky finding it by googling. Anyone know a good place to get it?

  6. There is a map editor in the Steam version. You just have to start it with a command line thingy.
To launch the editor for UT 3 at this time you need to right click on the game > Properties > Set Launch Options > add the word "editor" without quotes.

Alternativly, if you have set a shortcut to your desktop, you can add the following "-editor" without quotes.

Ah ok. Its been about 2 years since I've even messed with this stuff. I should still have the disc with all the tutorials for how to do this, but I'd rather just play the damn game. Who wants to play this or UT99?

  8. Quick question guys, I tried to reinstall UT99 but my framerates go insane. I can't seem to cap them. I installed the patch and such but it still goes nuts. I got a GeForce 7950 if that helps. Any help would be appreciated.

  9. Hmm tough to say. My version off Steam runs fine, however I did have a problem when first reinstalling the disc based version about 2 years back on my current rig. For some reason the game speed was set way too high and everything felt uber turbo. That may be one thing you want to check, but other than that, I'd say keep trying to mess with the settings, and if all else fails, reinstall again and make sure you select the right audio and graphics settings it gives you options for the first time you run it.

  10. try running it in OGL instead of D3D.. I've had it happen before, but I don't remember what the fix is.
