My brother in Atlanta has a PS2 that no longer plays any kind of CD or DVD, game or otherwise. He has said that I can have it if I want, and I do indeed want. He's kept the thing in pretty good condition, but just played it constantly. I don't know any serial numbers on it right now, and most googling I've done has not helped nearly as much as it did when I needed to fix my Xbox. If anyone has any experience or knows of a good place to start looking for info on what steps to take in order to fix the PS2, I'd be grateful. I've yet to find anyone who is selling full PS2, DVD drives. Most sites with any decent information are UK sites that are selling parts (not fully assembled drives), and it appears that servicing the PS2 drive is more complex than the Xbox's simple plug and play DVD drives. Any help would be grateful.
Thanks immensely,
Kev.
