Yeah, I don't like the red they chose either. And that guy is way too lanky to be Superman. I mean, Reeves wasn't Hulk fucking Hogan but he was bulkier than this guy.

Nah I think Brandon Routh is basically the same build as Reeve in the first movie. Perhaps even a slight bit buffer due to the extra padding.

I agree that the idea of Lois having a kid does ruin her character, and it also makes her 'damaged goods'. Superman, being the icon of goodness he is, would never actively pursue a woman who had a quick fling with someone else resulting in pregnancy. This cheapens her character and makes her weak as a result. Clark had always been attracted to her quest for power and determination to be the best.

All aside, I see this as being the shitty Ghostbusters 2/Cosby Show plot-device it really is - to make Lois relatable to all the single-mothers out there (giving them hope that maybe - just maybe - they can find a "Superman" of their own to take care of them) and as some excuse to have a kid in the movie.

In reality, the kid would be observant enough to see through Clark's disguise the first time he sees him. That stupid hair of Routh's is a dead giveaway.

And why all this hate for Superman 3 & 4?

Superman 3 had the best scene ever - "You always wanted to fly, Kent - Now's your chance!"

Superman 4 had...the fight on the moon! And...Brick-Vision! And...- Okay, maybe this one did suck a nut. Not quite as bad as Troll 2, but close.
