Won't happen. The way this movie is going, Lex and Supes will decide to talk out their problems and end up in a tearful embrace.Originally Posted by Jetman

It's a normal kid. According to the Superman article in Entertainment Weekly, Lois married, had the kid, and then divorced during Superman's long absense. DC is going to release several Superman Returns comics that explain what the supporting cast was doing during Superman's absence.Originally Posted by Mr-K

I was never that big of a superman fan, but my respect for him has sky rocketed ever since I heard his little speech in the last episode of justice league unlimited. With that said, I am pumped for this movie, moreso than I am for x3. I for one am %100 okay with lois having a kid, superman left the planet for five years, was she just supposed to sit by and wait for a man that might never return? She is a woman after all, people move on with their lives.
As for it being too emotional, GOOD! Superman is too fucking powerful, the only thing that can really fuck him up (aside from kryptonite) are moral and emotional issues, and these are the kinds of things I would like to see.

You are right in that their needs to be a story here, but I think I want to see Superman...I dont know...being Super, throwing some cars, punching villians through buildings, etc. I'll bet most movie goers are thinking the same thing. There can be a balance between the two and I hope Singer gets it right.Originally Posted by Regus
I just watched the trailer. I LIKED that Lois moved on and had a kid. Who fucking cares what the comics did or didnt do. This makes sense. Movie looks good. Who knows if it will be great though. I would like to see this turn into the next big Spiderman type film series.

and no no it doesnt make sense, it doesn't fit with Lois' character in any which way, it has nothing to do with moving on and all to do with Lois being career driven, it has all to do with the Lois Lane character willing to risk everything for a story, including her own life, When some one becomes a parent that all ends, because now it's not a matter of looking out for ones self any more now it's a matter of well I can't just jump on this plane and fly to Nigeria and sneek into the lexcorp facility there and possibly get killed because I have a child at home the depends soley on me
Her having a kid and being a single parent changes things completely, Lois can't be the risk taker she was, she just can not be, and that was a huge part of the character dating back to when she was created
I hear Lois has a cock now, too.
