Lots of movies that don't do well in theaters clean up on DVD. Hopefully that'll be the case with this movie 'cause I'd like a sequel.
At Comic-Con they said it was questionable if there will be due to how poorly it did compared to how they hoped it would do. I'm sure (HD)DVD will pick up some slack though, and more overseas sales... so we could see it, but I expect them to not do it as big of a budget and drastically change the theme/style.Originally Posted by I'm Never Funny

A sequel is a must, especially since Singer has hinted at a possibility of a super-powered villain for the next movie, possibly Brainiac or another solar-powered Kryptonian.
I'm really surprised that Superman Returns hasn't broken $200 million yet. I went to see it again last week and the theater's center seating was nearly filled... and this was on a Wednesday night.
Shit, even the IMAX theater I went to Saturday was packed. Maybe a lot of these people are sneaking in or something.

IMAXs are generally one screen, and it's better than a normal theater... so they often sellout, but don't account for much money overall.Originally Posted by Dolemite

I did like SR I just thought it needed more of super man well you know being super. If they spice it up a bit I think a sequal could be fantastic.
There is no question there will be a sequel. The question is if Singer will do it.
The movie was a disappointment financially, but didn't bomb! Last I heard 185M in USA and something over 280M worldwide.
I am not a Pirates fan. Even though Supers could have been better, I still liked it quite a bit. I don't understand all the PotC love.
