I would be interested in seeing how the japanese fans feel about this. American cartoons seem to be really popular over there. Will it upset them that this show was turned into something they already have piles of?

Oh 'waah, waah, waah', same Scourge bullshit. The show was NEVER great but when it became the 'new thing' it was obnoxious. You hear it a lot because it happens a LOT in television and all media really and when it does the quality does sometimes start to suffer. The show becomes less entertaining and fresh and instead turns into mindless fanservice on repeat.

As for the original show not having 'merit', what the fuck? Only an anime moron like you would bust out some stupid shit like that. Of course the show never had 'merit'. It was a cartoon. It had a few laughs, and that's why I watched it on occasion. Same with the Simpsons, same with Family Guy, same with fucking Seinfield. It's just a show.
