Am I the only one completely non-plussed by these screenshots?

Nonplused (or nonplussed) means confused/perplexed -- it doesn't mean unfazed. Not that I really care about anyone's vocabulary, but I thought I would save you a lifetime of using that word when you mean to say something close to its very opposite.

A complaint about so-called "art direction" usually strikes me as a complaint from someone who really has nothing to say, but feels like being contrary -- aka, a message board douchebag. Having played some games with you online, I do not believe you to be a douchebag, so again I'm interceding for your benefit. Do you not like the way the little racecars are drawn?

In Burnout 3, yes -- most of the cars do look like crap, heh. It really is an odd complaint from me, since I have all of the artistic sense of a brick (if I had to direct a game, odds are it ends up looking like Shenmue or Virtua Fighter -- yikes). I am probably being needlessly contrarian, due to a certain level of frustration with the game, as it is something that everyone except me finds enjoyable.

The comment was a semi-sarcastic remark -- while there is nothing wrong with the way the game looks, I think I am just tired of the trend torward pseudo-photorealistic graphics that this industry is trending torwards. It goes beyond that -- sometimes I feel like some developers just walk up to a machine that has 'generic medieval fantasty setting' or 'generic gritty urban setting' stamped on it, pull the lever on the machine a number of times, and get their game settings cranked out like that.

(I have no idea how this spawned such a rant, honest. I may have a major problem with the direction the videogame industry is heading, but this game really is not a poster boy for most of its problems.)

I see what youre saying here - if you put these pictures next to pictures of whatever NFS is coming out it might be hard to tell a difference. Strange, since the games arent even being made on the same continent.

The Madden bus is a hidden vehicle if you have a Madden '06 save on your memory card/hard drive. Stupid EA.

EDIT: I think my hatred for the series (madden) made me jump the gun a bit. Obviously the person already owns the game, so this is not EA trying to get people to buy Madden, so I guess it's kind of a cool feature for the people that care. Since I don't care, it will not be in my game, so it doesn't affect me. Game on.

I think it's awesome. Even if it was regularly unlockable (without a Madden save) it wouldn't "affect" you. It'd just be one more choice, and one you'd never have to choose. Maybe they should make the Bond car unlockable with a "From Russia with Love" save, or the batmobile with a "Batman Begins" save.

It's not like having franchised cars would take away from your precious roster of "red sports car" and "green ricer" and "blue muscle car".

They have stacks of the free demo for both systems at best Buy and I've played it so many times in the last week it's ridiculous. This game is by far the smallest jump between BO games ever but the tuning is so amazingly incredible it makes me giddy every time I play.

One time, I blew up every single opponent at once. It was great. I just thought I'd tell you guys.

I suppose if you really wanted a Cube release you could wait till the game was released, buy a copy, then contact EA tech support and tell them the Burnout 4 disc is too big to fit in your Gamecube. Maybe they'd realise their mistake and rush out a Cube version.

Your an idiot. This game rocks. I never owned a Burnout game. Yes it took me this long to realize that this series rocks. And yes I want to play it on my GC.

If you look at my edit, I took back what I originally said (the edit was about 10 seconds after my initial post, so I'm sure you saw it). But I disagree about it not "affecting" me if it were not required to have a save, but then it would just be blatant advertising for a game that needs no more advertising, and a game I hate, so I do not want to be reminded of it anymore than I already am forced to do. It's bad enough seeing NFSU2 ads in BO3, but it's not something I'd see when looking through cars or if god forbid I had to use it (I could see them making it a required vehicle in the single player).
