Thread: PSPorts

  1. PSPorts

Ports are simply an eventuality at this point - but curiously enough, I find it to be a good idea in this case. Re-releasing some old favorites from the previous generation sounds enticing, especially considering the display and lack of real cost or effort to churn out.

We're already seeing a port of Tales of Eternia, something I'm actually looking forward to even though I've beaten that game raw(It's what caused me to start this thread). Maybe it's the opportunity to experience the game in a way previously unfathomable, or the nostalgia effect. Either way, some PS1 classics I wouldn't mind seeing in a Port Compilation:

    Final Fantasy VII-VIII-IX
    Valkyrie Profile
    Grandia
    Intelligent Qube
    Puzzle Fighter Turbo
    One
    Final Fantasy Tactics
    Omega Boost

Of course, I understand the criticism that centralizing your releases on ports is a thinly veiled attempt at milking a dry cow, but perhaps not. With the sheer sexiness of a PSP I'd be willing to shell out a few to relive the good times in nice, portable Hi-res.

Scratch everything that TrialSword listed except Tactics (A port of Saturn Grandia would be welome though) then add...

    Castlevania: SotN
    Dino Crisis
    Gradius Gaiden
    Metal Gear Solid
    Resident Evil
    R-Type Delta
    Tomb Raider
    Vandal Hearts

  3. I don't really mind ports when they're done years after the original game has been released, and can be hard to find. With a PS1-PSP listing, I'd go with:
    Twisted Metal 1 and 2
    Klonoa
    Final Fantasy Tactics + VII-IX
    Kartia
    Irritating Stick
    Intelligence Qube
Crash Bandicoot (a complilation of the PS1 games would rule)
    matthewgood fan
    lupin III fan

Agreeance on SOTN, though I'd rather see an original game in the 2D vein. As for everything else, I think I'd rather see original works, too. I mainly chose games that I knew were most likely not going to be followed up with a sequel in any way on either system.

You should have said that. If only that applied to Final Fantasy...

  6. Any good horzie shmup. This system begs for them.

  7. I would buy a FF7 if they redid the character models and translation, no matter the platform.

A Tomba would be good on PSP.

    Twisted Metal 1 and 2
Twisted Metal 1 is beyond worthless in the year 2005.

  8. Intelligent Qube
    Gradius Deluxe Pack & Gaiden
    Silent Bomber
    Einhander
    Gamera 2000
    Castlevania: SOTN
Fire Pro G (or a new FP game)
Currently Playing: Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster (PC), Let's Build a Zoo (PC) & Despot's Game (PC)

  9. Lets see...

    Final Fantasy Tactics
    A Tomba Game
    Final Fantasy 6
    Resident Evil 2
    SoTN
    MGS
    Star Ocean 2

That's about all I can think of, but I want some type of Freq/Amplitude game on PSP.
