Thread: George Romero's Land of the Dead

  1. This movie was just horrible.

The movie proposes or leads us to believe that a zombie turned gas station worker started remembering previous functioning of his brain, or somehow gained a small cave man like ability to learn.... Fair enough, but the interesting factor stops there.

After watching Dawn of the Dead I expected great things from this movie. Dawn of the Dead was scary, fun, exciting, sad, and thrilling. Comparativly, this movie was plain dull, un inspiring, and pointless. The action scenes where laughable... everything was laughable. For example, we are introduced to 3 top trained military figures in the middle of the movie so the viewer assumes they have some weight or baring on the movie. STOP THERE, the first guy dies 2 minutes after he first enters the movie in probably the most dumbest way I have ever seen in a zombie film. After siting down in the jeep they were in, a zombie comes from behind him and grabs him GASP, but to our surprise the Zombie has no head.... wait yes it does its dangling from the back of its body! The Zombie then tosses its head in the air and onto the guys shoulder where he procedes to bite in zombie fashion.... LAME. I can't go into to much detail about how much this movie sucked, but it does have one redeeming factor. Basically a " LOL" ( laugh out loud) factor. I've never laughed this much in a zombie movie before. But the best scene goes to Dennis Hopper, and his "omg look out" trick, as he caps one of his good men in the head for the heck of it.

Case and point, a serious zombie movie is not supposed to make you laugh, but this one did. I give it a 5/10 only for movie exececution, and "LOL" ability.

    5/10

  2. Seriously, the movie does not hold up under repeat viewings. When I first saw it I thought it was nowhere near as good as Night, Dawn, and Day, but still thought was still decent. Now I really don't care much for it at all.

But yeah, that Dennis Hopper "look over there!" scene was pretty fucking funny.

BTW, do you really think someone here doesn't know what "LOL" stands for?

Well I write a good bit of quick reviews, and sometimes I dont know if the person looking at them knows all of the internet slang, so I put it in quotation.

  4. The attendant "learned" because it's the progression of what was done in Day with Bubba (I think that was his name). For the record, I HATED Day, yet found this enjoyable... as good as Night or Dawn, no, but still enjoyable.

Yea I got that, but they didn't go into detial at all about that in the movie, and I'm sure most random people had no clue about the connection between the progression of Bubba in Day , to this movie.

  7. The sequel has been delayed due to George Romero being hospitalized. I read it at http://www.bloody-disgusting.com It didnt' say what was wrong.
