Thread: George Romero's Land of the Dead

  1. Shit, I don't know what to think. So far it doesn't look much different from every other new-age zombie movie out there.

All I can really say is that in the next 3 months I will be spending a hell of a lot more money in theaters than I would've originally thought.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  2. Well the Zombies dont look to be fast just smart and how crazy is it that their using music from the Resident evil movie score in this trailer.

  3. Well, considering how shitty the script was, and how disappointing this trailer is, I have very low expectations.

  4. It has zombies. I will be there opening night.
edit: I don't know if I like the idea of thinking zombies. DENNIS HOPPER!

I didn't read the script but it seems everyone thinks it sucks. I also didn't read the original Day of the Dead script and everyone thought that was great.

Again, I still don't know what to think. I thought Day of the Dead brought a lot more to the zombie mythos table than any other zombie flick before it. It isn't the perfect film but it's definitely the most thoughtful one.

  6. The problem is it's barely a zombie flick. They're way too intelligent... it's more like an apocalyptic action movie that just happens to have some living dead in it.

As long as they still eat people, I'm down.

It did work in Return of the Living Dead series, or in Peter Jackson's Dead Alive, howvewer zombies in those films, were unortodox to begin with, with ability to run, speak, crave brains, being almost completely undestructable, where conventional zombies just require shot in the head, or any other kind of brain damage/separation.
You sure do know your zombies

  9. Well, I do

I have to wait till I get home tonight, to watch the trailer

  10. I just thought that I would comment that not all of Romero's Zombies were slow. Night of the Living dead had some decently quick ones. Nonetheless not as fast as the remake or other films.

Anyways, thanks for the link. That trailer made my (otherwise shitty) day.
