Thread: Halo 2 is anti-Bush? Huh?

  1. Guile's haircut was super-Republican?

Why can't the obviously biased political nutjobs leave our video games alone?

As you can see in this screenshot, Bush is wiping out the "savages" with his Freedouken (an Americanified blend of the ever popular Freedom and Hadouken).

  5. What do you expect. It's from FreeRepublic, which is about as rational and reasoned as Democratic Underground.

Well, it was EW that manipulated the Bungie employee's quote. I'm not a republican (or democrat), I'm not a fan of FreeRepublic, but I place this blame squarely on EW.

I actually didn't know about FreeRepublic or any kind of reputation it may have at all when I happened across this. I saw the EW article while I was looking up map strats for Halo 2. Should I have posted this up somewhere else?
The only differance between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage.

  8. This is the problem when you mix politics with business. Sooner or later it is taken out of context and used against you.

Ultimately he's right, he shouldn't have offered any examples as it was very likely anything he offered could be taken out of context and used to offend people. He's at fault for doing that (which he appears to take responsibility for) and the reporter is responsible for shoddy reporting by not giving his entire quote accurately.
