Thread: Zodiac

  1. Zodiac

    From DarkHorizons

Mark Ruffalo is in negotiations and Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey have signed onto David Fincher's long-gestating thriller "Zodiac" according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Paramount and Warner Bros. co-production is aiming to begin filming in August.

Gyllenhaal will play Robert Graysmith, the journalist and author of the two books, "Zodiac" and "Zodiac Unmasked: The Identity of America's Most Elusive Serial Killer Revealed," upon which the film's script by Jamie Vanderbilt is based. Downey will play fellow reporter Paul Avery, and Ruffalo would play the San Francisco homicide inspector in charge of the case.

The books revolve around the real-life tale of a serial killer known as the Zodiac Killer, who terrorized San Francisco between 1966-1978 and had at least 37 murders to his name. Graysmith and Avery worked at the San Francisco Chronicle, which the killer used as a conduit to communicate with authorities. The former believed he had identified the killer but competing investigations and other circumstances prevented the suspect from being apprehended.

    Could be interesting...
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

  2. About time Fincher did something new.

  3. Fincher is the fucking man, the movie will own. Its been too damn long since Panic Room, but he really got bounced around from project to project and would up not directing a bunch of movies.

Oh and the Zodiac killer was hardcore, never caught either.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

It's really bad. I got it for free, and still felt ripped off.
    Boo, Hiss.

  10. Saw the movie FRI night. Really well done. Lots of people. Great feel of the 70's. But, I think they should have cut it shortly after Drew Carey's brother gets off after passing the handwriting test. That's the closest they have to a climax, no one is killed after that, and everything else just kinda drags on. They could have still filmed it and just saved it for the DVD a-la-LOTR style.
