    There are a hell of a lot more kids that need homes now than couples who want to adopt. And even more who only want babies of a particular age and race. Also, as previously stated, it isn't SAFE for a girl this young to carry a baby to term and give birth.

  2. I said in this case, abortion is probably good as the baby would probably be messed up. If I KNEW that the baby would be OK, I'd say no abortion. I don't care if the girl isn't safe. What kind of message about responsibility would that send?

    And about the homeless, etc. Like I said before, I would still rather have the chance. You never know what could happen.

    Anyway, that's all I have about this topic...I've heard all the arguments for pro-choice, and while I think some are good, I still don't agree. I think everyone would want the chance.

    There's a difference between a purely hypothetical situation and a probable situation. The girl's health has a probable chance of being adversely effected if she carries the child to term, thus it is not unreasonable to opt for the statistically less risky abortion.

    That's as far as I want to go with this, the abortion debate never really starts anything on these boards but a big argument.

    EDIT: Heh, I guess we're all pretty battle fatigued over this issue.

    Just to restate:

    State law allows minors to have abortions without notifying their guardians. Experts say the law extends to wards of the state, raising the question of why this girl's decision has ended up before a judge.
    Once again why is this in the court then?
