Thread: Conan in High Def..

  1. Conan in High Def..

If you guys haven't seen Conan O'Brien for the last week or so, his show is now completely in HD TV w/ widescreen. I think this is a great move. Not only do we get to see the show in it's full form (not like you would be missing much) but it also sends a strong message to other shows to get their asses in gear!

Working at a DVD store, I get all the idiots who refuse (after explaining about Widescreen and it's advantages) to watch Widescreen, well now even TV shows are converting and it looks like they are going to have no choice but to stop being ignorant.

Do you guys like it, or not so much?

  2. Its cool, I like the widescreen thing, but honestly, I didnt notice it until Conan started talking about it and he did that skit about it (with Abe Vigoda playing table tennis).

All shows are moving to this format in the near future, Conan's show is just slightly ahead of the game (NBC is probably using it as a test for their other stuff).

  3. I new something was fishy, I was seeing more of the desk than I was used to seeing.

I'm glad they used his show as a guinea pig.
    All is well.

I thought this thread was about a different Conan.

    You bastards.

  5. The first night they did it was great, because they for a bit only showed you what you got to see thanks to the Hi-Def. So there was this big black box over the middle of the screen, with these two vertical bars on the sides. Conan was sticking his head in there talking. It was funny because it adds nothing to the show what-so-ever. And Conan was just making fun of NBC the whole time.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  7. This is awesome.

  8. What are the advantages of widescreen other than that movies are shot that way?

  9. You can see more and in the case of Hi-Def, it looks a hell of a lot better than regular analog TV (assuming you have an HD TV).

Other than? That should be all the answer you need.

How about next time you draw something on paper. I rip the sides off and we leave it at that.
