I think you have an obligation to do your own damn homework.
In my english class we have to write an essay answering and explaining the question:
Do we have an obligation to value the common good above our own values?
We have to write an essay that is 7-10 minutes long (roughly 5-7 pages) and then memorize it to give a speech about it. Anyways, that's beside the point. I want to get your opinions and ideas on the subject.
I don't think that we are not obligated to do anything in life. What we are obligated to do is make decisions in life that has an effect on us and our surroundings. And it’s how we deal with these decisions that make up our values. No matter what anyone says or does, in the end, your going to be the one living with what we’ve done that day.
The above paragraph is basically my view on the question and my introduction to my essay, but I'm sure it'll go through a few changes before I have to turn it in.

"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."
Hello insult number one. Now that you've had the pleasure to insult someone, move onto the next topic to throw in your clever remarks.Originally Posted by Revoltor

nice try, noob.
There is no such thing as values.

I don't mean to insult, but a great start would be getting your verbs to agree with your nouns, among other things.Originally Posted by The Chronicle

F. Minus. I know that I was good in English, but this is the problem with schools today. This passes as "good".
I have tried a dozen different ways to fix that 'paragraph' you posted, and no matter how hard I try I can not make any sense of what the fuck you are trying to say.

You are not alone.
Let's see...
-2 negatives = positive? "I think that we are obligated to do anything in life"?Originally Posted by The Chronicle
Doesn't every decision we personally make 'effect on us and our surroundings'?Originally Posted by The Chronicle

I don't think that you are answering the question. Put it this way, were you to be, God forbid, President someday, and let's say that you have to decide to bomb a location you know will kill civilians, as well as some terrorists, are you obligated to do that, knowing it will save more lives than it costs, even if you are against killing of civilians?Originally Posted by The Chronicle
I'd think about that one for a day and then do your homework.
I made a mistake. The paragraph is suppose to start off, "We are not obligated to do anything in life." I put the "I think that" for reasons beyond me.Originally Posted by MVS
Yeah, but it sounded good when I said it out loud.Originally Posted by MVS

Obviously there is a problem, but to the person which is you in this case there isn't a problem.Originally Posted by MVS
I wouldn't.Originally Posted by MVS
