THEOcracy has picked up a post from Jill Wagner, who stated that Spike TV has cancelled Blade: The Series:

Just wanted to say thanks again to all of you who supported me and Blade the Series. I was just informed today that there will be NO 2nd season of Blade the Series. I really enjoyed playing Krista and i hope that i did her justic at least for one season! However, that is not the end of Jill Wagner's acting career. I will keep you guys posted on what's next for me. Again i say thanks for the support. Hey, there is always the DVD right????

The series started off strong early in the season but lost viewers as it went on.

Hmm, this sucks. While i was a big critic of this, I still enjoyed the campiness and grew to love new Wimpy Blade

I guess Blade was taking away from SpikeTV's 24-hour-a-day CSI reruns. Fuck SpikeTV.

It's a realistic hope that another network would pick the show up, however. Maybe...just maybe...

I'm one of those "lost viewers." I have them all saved to my computer that I originally DVRed.... but I just can't bring myself to watch it... guess I'm waiting for a rainy day when I'm not so behind on stuff I cared about. I can't say I'm too surprised about this, though.

But I think the first couple episodes scared alot of viewers. Scared being "wow this show sucks and I see no hope in it improving." But it did which is the sad part.

Yeah, I agree. If the early episodes were as great as the later ones I think the viewers would have totally stuck with it.

Most TV shows if they suck ... get worse as the weeks go on. But this show actually listened to fans and critics and fixed shot that was bad.

How many weeks we complained of Blade sucking at hand to hand. Last few episodes hand to hand improved.

Yea, at the end of this, I was satisfied. Much better choice of programming, in contrast to all the crap TV that has been shoved down our throats as of now.
