Hmm, DVD sounds interesting.
I'm one of the ones that saw the first episode, puked, and restricted it from viewing schedule.
Yeah, it's like someone finally remembered to get the guy some karate lessons halfway through the season.

I met Jill Wagner at the Philly Auto Show ... pics forth coming ... and she let me know why the Blade show was cancelled. We both agreed that it was lame. The reason it was cancelled was the viewership was HIGH ... but it was mostly female. Spike TV did not like that and they cancelled it. She told me that if it wqas on any other network and had the ratings it did. The show would have been signed for 3 more years.

Well thats what she told me. And I agreed it was lame and stupid. She said that "Yes because Spike is "The man's network" They cannot have the ladies be the majority of watchers. I bet she'll have me on her blog or something. Since It seems I was the only guy who actually knew she starred; not only on the commercials, but also the Blade TV show.

That makes no sense. Ratings are ratings. If I owned SpikeTV I wouldn't care if Blade was watched by ambidextrous retarded crossdressing republican truck-driving jugglers ages 18-35 as long as the ratings were high.
From what I read, the show was cancelled because it was expensive and the ratings didn't quite justify the cost. Shame, because all Spike plays otherwise are endless reruns of CSI and UFC recap shows.
BTW, here's an online petition for Spike to bring back Blade: http://www.comicmonsters.com/modules...=viewforum&f=8

It's all about advertising and making some money. If you have a high rating, say a ridiculous 4.1 (for SpikeTV anyway) and it's all ambidextrous retarded crossdressing republican truck-driving juggles ages 18-35 you can't sell them shit so no advertiser is going to pay a high premium to have their ads played.
SpikeTV is probably a great business in that it caters almost exclusively to 18 - 35 year old males, the highest and biggest spending demographic in the world. If Blade wasn't getting these males then it wasn't bringing in enough revenue to cover its costs.
There's a bunch of issues with debt too. Normally a television show doesn't start making money until the 100th episode, which is why it's always such a huge episode when a series makes it that far (until the 5th season, usually).
There are politics involved in cancellations (Angel was cancelled due to politics at the WB) but by and large it's all money.
