Thread: Blade TV movie and series in the works

  1. I saw a commercial with just the link and just said "what the fuck was that?" Never went to it though, and no one else knew what it was for.

  2. The 2-hour premiere episode (with limited commercial interruption) is this Wednesday at 10PM.

I read a magazine article on the series and it seems they want to go back to the feel of the first movie- make things more dark, gritty, and urban, as opposed to the more over-the-top and comic-booky stuff that was in the two sequels (the Reavers, Dracula, WWE wrestling moves, etc). I support this.

Sounds like a good move on their part. My DVR is set to record this whenever it's on now.

  4. Yeah, I hated Blade 2 and skipped part 3. This can only be a good thing.

That sounds great. #1 was a very good and easily the best of the series. Blade III is an embarrassment to the franchise. Dracula's mythology and lore is pretty specific, and he was never a big brooding brute. He was always a master of manipulation and illusion.

2 looks awesome after seeing 3. They're both garbage.

The producers interviewed about the series seemed to agree with you. They specifically said they want the series to be like the first movie (and perhaps even grittier), which was easily the best of the bunch.

The season will be 13 episodes, in addition to the 2-hour movie this week. I'm really looking forward to it.

  7. Fuck the haters. Blade 2 was awesome, less awesome then 1 but awesome nevertheless.

Trinity was bad though, I agree.

  8. Blade 2 was decent, but I didn't care for the comic book-like feel Del Toro gave it. The odd colored lighting (lots of blue and amber), the over-the-top wrestling moves (suplexes, Randy Savage elbow drops, guys spinning through the air), the stupid anime-style weapons and body armor, and some really horrible dialogue all served to take away a lot of the grit and realism (well, for a vampire movie) the first flick had.

But what really annoyed me about Blade 2 was how easily Blade bought what the vampires said and teamed up with them. They spent the entire first movie establishing how much he hates bloodsuckers and suddenly they show up in part 2, say "Hi, join our club and help clean up our mess!" and he's all like, "Yeah, sure!" What a dildo.

Besides, a hero is only as good as his nemesis, and Deacon Frost was a hell of a lot cooler bad guy than Nomak.

And Blade: Trinity was retarded, unless you saw that it was just an iPod commercial. Then it was great.

Blade 2 was not awesome. It had good action, and was okay at best. You can think it's awesome, I'm not disputing that. You can go ahead and think that. What I just want you to realize, though, is that in general it isn't awesome at all.

  10. Blade 2 kicked ass.
