Okay, one. But you think that for something this big, and with MS's vast resources, they'd be advertising on every channel possible.
This is the most low-key launch I've ever seen.
I heard the XBox 360 was delayed. rom what I heard the date was moved to an unspecified date and its in the new EGM magazine. ALSO, about the commercial thing ... there was one. MTV showed it.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
MS is trying to copy what Sony did with the PS2's launch.....purposely cause a shortage to make the demand go through the roof and sell a shitload of systems....Originally Posted by EMAGDNIM

I guess that means the other stores in the district won't be getting as many as that. 50 sets at most and probably mostly the core system. First come, first serve since they didn't do alot of pre-orders those were very limited.
I'll be waiting till 2006 unless I get lucky and get one as X-mas present.
Sony didn't patent this. Creating artificial demand has been going on for a billion years.Originally Posted by kevincal

EVERYONE was talking about it, and once it was widely available, well, you know the rest. And I just bet MS is trying their hand at this tactic, and it will prolly work to some extent..until the PS3 is released, then it's game over.
And like Josh said, that's nothing really new. It creates interest, and usually works as a sales-booster.

Keeping with the artificial demand theory: wouldn't it make sense for Microsoft to launch a huge tv ad campaign AFTER the system's out and isn't available (like, during the Christmas season)?
That is like the ugliest shade of green I have ever seen.
