Isn't there another Galaga like game by namco which had improved graphics and backgrounds? the name escapes me! ;0

Also try Juno First. It's not by Namco, but it kicks more ass than Galaga ever dreamed of. Odds of a Live Arcade version are roughly 1:1,000,000,000

I rented FN3 tonight and I have a question about the achievements: if I just roll through career mode will I eventually find my way into all the different kinds of fights I need to?

play through career and you can get everything. It takes a while but the game is really worth it.

As much as I'd love to hear from MS about the Wednesday Party, I'm having an unofficial one this upcoming Wednesday. First of all, it's SF2, so I know I'll be playing anyway, but it works out perfect since I have the night off from work. Also, as an extra bonus, my TV which has been in the repair shop for over a month (fuckers... but that's a whole new bitch-fest, and not of any interest to anyone else) will be back home. My "parties" lately just haven't been the same when it's been on an old fuzzy (not because it's SD, it's just a fuzzy picture) Quasar 19" when we've been having many parties for the last 2 years with a 50" 16x9 HDTV.

Can we shut this thread down, open an Xbox Live Arcade thread and other threads for other issues? This thing is getting massive.

I don't mind a big thread (ie, the WWE thread I post in all the time), but things have been getting kind of hard to keep up with. I say go for it.

I felt the same way when I got the system. Everything about it was very nifty and slick --- the design, the wireless controllers, the dashboard interface, Xbox Live, etc. What bums me out about it, though, is that so many people have gotten the red lights of death, including myself. It really sucks to drop four bills and worry about the system holding up.

There are still things, design wise, I don't like about the system. MS crippling the media center capabilities of the 360 was dumb, dumb, dumb, and just shows that their promise of MS and Xbox being separate entities is long gone. The UI is quite horrible at times, but hey, that's an MS trademark.

I also wish they would have pushed the User Accounts idea farther. For example, let me log into my account at a friend's house, even if I don't have my account on a memory card, then have that automatically configure the controller for the game the way I like it via prefs stored online.
