Hard to say -- (for all we know -- you took that win and ran like a bandit). As for trendsetting, I definitely don't recall you being among the first to discover he was formidable, online or otherwise.

Anyways, I'd love an excuse to dust some of the 2D fighters I've got in my collection (SFAC or the most recent KOF release). It's not like I am been playing either of them regularly (which should make the skill level even). That way no one has to say "oh, well I am rusty."

p.s. when it comes to fighters -- joysticks are >>>> pads.

Pick different moves.

No, really. Counter rates against the AI are primiarly based off of move usage frequency. This gets stupid because it jams up a lot of forced-choice situtations unnecessarly because it always guesses correctly unless you mix up the moves you use, even if the situtation does not require it (ie: a typical high/low mixup only requires two moves, but you keep jamming that mixup and it will start countering it all the time, even though it should not be).

Is this now the official thread? Whatever. The game seems great so far -- much different feel than DOA:U. It's seemingly offense heavy which makes for even faster play. Obviously shorter reversal windows, but also shorter air-times after launchers and during juggles. Nitpickers will bitch about some minor tearing and a few stiff/ugly hair and clothing textures, but the overall look is impressive. Damn, those backgrounds! Anyone notice in the Las Vegas strip (among other stages) that your personal gamercard tagline is scrolling across the neon sign? So many cool little touches like that. If you don't have an HD display, go buy one tomorrow.

I'm practicing for a bit (and I'm working all weekend) but any of you should feel free to hit me up for some online beatdowns.

I also see that there are now some anti-turtling staggers --- no more block/throw loafing. What will all those poor Ayane players do now? Actually, what will half of the DOA players do now?
