Yeah but it didn't actually come out for sale until now, according to the e-mail. Trust me, I knew about this even long before you did. Hence the whole 'finally released,' thing.Originally Posted by voltz

The characters look exactly like you'd expect... stylized, plasticy anime fighters. Now with some more detail and at a higher resolution.
What did people think this would look like?

Pretty much what you said, but with a leap over Ultimate on the same scale as the one from DOA2-3.Originally Posted by sethsez

Ghost Recon 3 scan
The environments look a hell of a lot better, and the characters are much smoother. And unlike the DOAU shots MarkRyan posted, these screenshots actually represent what the game will look like since DOAU tops out at 480p.Originally Posted by Giga Power
I agree that it does look better. Just doesn't look like anything beyond what the current Xbox could do. I guess it just doesn't look next gen to me.Originally Posted by sethsez
But this is of course without seeing it in motion. I'm sure that'll make a difference.

Actually (heh), I really dont think the current Xbox could pull this off. The textures are way too detailed and the resolution is way too high. The Xbox would also completely choke on that distance blurring stuff they have going on. I would say that, with the exception of the shitty hair (which Im sure will be fixed), the game does leap over DOA3 as much as DOA3 did over 2, but its still kinda underwhelming. Maybe part of the problem is the art direction, I dunno.Originally Posted by Giga Power
