I'm tired of WW2 FPS's but I'd play CoD2 for hours at a time.

How much CoD2 have you played? be honest.

I'm not even sure which one is CoD2....

I played a demo of some army game (Could have been Call of Duty X) at Gamestop when the 360 came out last year for about three minutes and quickly lost interest.
Army games don't do shit for me and all look like the same game to me.

And I think you're underestimating the CoD experience. CoD2 is the most viscerally intense and atmospheric game ever. Its presentation is stunning. Its one of the best examples of what better hardware can bring imo. If Infinity Ward keeps it up CoD3 will be jaw-dropping. If immersive experiences like that are what we can expect from PS360 I will be happy.

IBTMFN. I'm more stoked for COD3 than for Gears of War. The realism and atmosphere COD2 brought was just incredible, and I simply love it. If the PS360 can deliver this on a constant basis, this will be the best hardware generation ever by far.

But yea, we already knew what you wanted. You're different from, like, 99.9% of people buying consoles.

As for graphical power, yes the GameCube and xbox 1 and even PS2 can still put out solid looking stuff. But in 2008 the norm will be the PS360's 1080, hi-res, surround sound, 30000x30000 size textures or whatever. Solid developers will be injecting their PS360 games with style too, you know. The Wii will look like ass next to those games no matter what. Like it or not, that will hurt it to most. Not to you, but to most. Your argument that the controller change will pick up the slack is debatable, as I said above. Nintendo is using their handheld strategy in the console market and there's no evidence it will work.

Here's a thought: By 2008 or 2009 Nintendo may have another console out. The Wii could be the GBA SP of their console lineup.
The Wii didn't really cost much in terms of R&D, with most of the focus being on setting up the VC and internet systems. They are bringing in the cash putting out more handhelds more frequently and by keeping their costs down with the Wii they may be able to, at once, re-establish credibility and take the DS profits to put out a more powerful system.

Not that I believe Nintendo would do that, but it sounds like a decent long-term strategy for me.
