I really like Yahoo's Launch service.
I'm doing the trial right now and this service kicks the crap out of Napster and Rhapsody, and it is cheaper by a bunch. I'm thinking about getting a Creative Labs Zen Micro to compliment the service if I decide to keep it.
Not sure yet, some of the stuff I thought would be there isn't, and stuff I didn't expect was there. Jury is still out, I'll update again after the 7 day trial. Anybody else checking this out.
The worst part so far is the buggy Beta software, but the rest is great.
Props to Buzz for turning me onto the service, he just picked up a CL Zen Micro.

Yeah I'm liking the service so far but I did find one annoying problem. If you listen to your collection from 3 different PC's, they are all independant from each other. Meaning if I download an album at work, there's no way to make my home PC know about it and have my collection in sync between the two locations.
This style of service is great for people who get tired of music really quickly or have really bad memory. The former can just get rid of crap they're not listening to anymore and not think about it and the latter forgets what music they like over time anyway (like my girlfriend). And the price tag is really good.
The only downside is if you're on vacation during the period where you need to "check in" with the service to keep the songs and don't have access to the computer, but I can't imagine that happening a lot. I'm sure Google will come out with a similar service in a while, but it will be better.![]()
I still prefer buying my albums at the store.
I still perfer downloading for free and supporting the artist elsewhere via merch or live shows.Originally Posted by Gohron

At least they're getting your money (for reals).

I listen to one, maybe two songs per album I buy. Doesn't make sense to buy albums.Originally Posted by Gohron
