Ok thanks for the info.
I have the XRGB-1 (can't upscan component) and the XRGB-2(can upscan componenent, but not very well). Use these for older systems that you really want perfect picture for when both A) you have the RGB cables, or access to them and B) you have to play them on a monitor or you have a TV that accepts VGA.Originally Posted by ssbomberman
I love my XRGBs, but only a fool would buy them to use the new consoles.
You will really only see the difference on a 19"+ monitor. Also, you need to make sure the game supports a resolution higher than 480P. If the game supports 720P and that resolution is selected in the dashboard as active, you will enjoy visual bliss.Originally Posted by Error
PS: Using the VDIGI, 1080i will be displayed at 540p. Still fantastic looking though...

These exist?!?!?! I thought the XRGB was the only way to get RGB on a modern PC monitor.Originally Posted by StriderKyo

Alright, it's been more than half a year and I still haven't made a solid decession on this yet.
So, here is my situtation now with this:
I've been seriously toying over the last week with ordering a Vdigi VGA box. My idea is to order that and pair it up with, if it uses componient inputs, this system selector so I can have it hooked up to my PS2, Xbox and, eventually when I buy one, the Xbox 360 at the same time.
My concerns with this are as follows:
Would throwing a system selector into the mix mess with the quality that this vga box can produce?
Would a 17inch monitor with the vdigi produce a much more enjoyible experience than a Sony 20inch tv that has s-video input and componient input (Although it is not an HDTV in any way) can produce?
My current TV is not shabby in any way, shape, or form -- I just keep thinking about when I had my Dreamcast hooked up to the VGA box and had PowerStone jamming on that thing and how fantastic it looked. What do you all think? Is it worth the $70 investment for the Vdigi adapter (That includes shipping) and another $40 investment for the switch box and a good pair of stereo computer speakers, or should I just stick with the 20inch tv I have now for all my current and future gaming console goodness?
Is it worth spending money to get the best experience possible out of your consoles? Yes.
Geen, where'd you get your avatar from? It speaks of a topic that's been annoying the shit out of me for years.
Nuff said.Originally Posted by Josh
I'm assuming that plugging this thing into a system switcher won't knock the quality?
I wanted to make an avatar of Peach when I changed my signature to which games I was currently playing and I happened to stumble upon that picture of Wendy and Ludwig Van Koopa during it.Originally Posted by ChaoofNee

I dunno about anyone else, but who had a joygasim over seeing the Koopa Kids return in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga? Nintendo needs to ditch some of the lamer Mario characters as of late (Those plant people, baby Bowser, Waluigi - although he's been becoming more acceptible to me with the last two kart games) and bring back the koopa kids.
I've been doing some research on switch boxes this morning. Originally I was thinking of the $20 Pelican one, but it seems like it does have a loss in video quality when compared to the signal you'd receive with a direct connection. Has anyone tried one of these switchers on an HDTV or with something like the Vdigi? I'm just really curious if there is a loss in quality or if every review I looked at was just really freaking paranoid and disgruntled because it doesn't have optical outputs. Thanks.

I think I'm going to change my strategy on this a little. I'm thinking of forgetting the switch box completely and, when the time comes to pick up a 360, also picking up Microsoft's offical VGA cable and hooking it into the Vdigi's VGA in port with the original Xbox on the componient in and, of course, the monitor on the VGA out.
So, my question now for anyone that has the Vdigi adapter, is there any quality lost by using the VGA in port on the Vdigi adapter instead of a direct connection from the source to the monitor?
Sorry for going in such circles about this, but when the mind wonders it demands answers. Thanks again.

Well....does anyone know of any adapters that will allow a VGA cable be converted so I can plug into my HDTV via component cables? Mine doesn't have a VGA input![]()
