Dating is something that strangers do to figure out whether or not they want to fuck each other.

I'm pretty sure it's hardwired in our DNA to decide whether or not we want to fuck the opposite sex within a few seconds. You don't need to go on a date to figure that out. Dating is to figure out if your prospective partner will make a good long-term BF/GF.

The poll results don't really interest me that much 2 years later, but I am curious as to what people like to do on dates. I threw up dinner and movies originally because it's the status quo "date". I remember I tried that one time years ago and it was an awkward experience at best, and seems really outdated. Worst advice ever for a date, imo.

dinner and a movie is more appropriate for couples - more specifically movies. Dinner is alright - imo. First dates should be interactive and short. I like bowling during cold months and mini-golf, etc. during warm months. Bottom line - do activities that will involve both people and force some kind of interaction.

Then agian, there is always the "let's just fuck" interaction, which is always more realistic since the whole "dating" thing is just a series of events leading to the horizontal dance.

1) Dating is going out and grabbing a drink or dinner with someone that you plan on fucking. Dating is casual, and doesn't imply shit. It can, but does not always become...

2) A Relationship. These are when you actually like the person you're fucking. At least at first, then she makes you want to die. Then you go back to number one with someone younger and dumber. Or if you can pull it off...

3) Fuck Buddy. This is someone you can fuck without going out to dinner. They usually won't try to talk to you about shit you don't care about either. These are good to do the kind of fucking that you wouldn't normally have with someone you like. If they ever call you for a reason that has nothing to do with fucking you have to kill them.

If you got the balls to say, "Let's just fuck" to girl and get her to say "OK" immediately thereafter (without getting hit by her) - you're my hero. I just used that phrase to describe the underlying context of body language that is displayed by two people when they're interested in each other.

I reference Halloween a few years ago when I met a girl at a bar and we hit it off. There was no "date". I was reading her like a book and I acknowledged that we were both very attracted to each other. Later, we wound up making out on the dance floor and after that went to the back of my car for a little extra romance. In that instance, that was an example of the "Let's just fuck" scenario.

I am curious as to what people like to do on dates.

I like to go to rock and roll shows. I also enjoy dinner. No movies though... unless its something interesting. I don't go to theaters much.
For example: Last night my girlfriend and I watched Edward Scissorhands projected on the side of a large multi-story building. It was free, it was a nice night, and nobody gave me the hairy eyeball for bringing a bottle of vodka.

Bowling and mini golf are my favourites. You can get close and you just fuck around. For a first date, anyway. Rock shows (and clubs if she likes them) are fun dates too, but I'm not big into clubbing. Rock shows yes, especially if she's a rock chick. Ever fuck in a bathroom at a rock show?

Other than that, I like dinner and a movie home-style. Cook her dinner and rent a movie, serve booze. Works well.
