Well, I am going to assume you mean like english, philosphy, etc. More and more girls are getting into the fields of science and math (which Im not going to argue whether they are more valuable, or whatever) but there is a lot of societal pressure on girls still to not be good at those subjects.

It does matter in regards to what you are trying to say. It is a lot easier to go to school if you have a parent paying for it. Those who have the easiest way to go to school are most likely to go.

I'm not trying to put girls down, just gain some perspective on this little tid bit of info you've thrown out. The fact more girls are going to college than guys does not necessarily mean what you are claiming it means.

Except it does, because there's been a well publicized push to get more girls more advanced degrees, and this push is reflected in both legislation and education policy of the past three decades.

Im not saying its a bad thing - the more people educated the better - and its worked well, too well in fact, to the point where its going backwards, except this time, its boys and not girls being hurt by it.

When I say worthless, I mean like relatively. Like I'd consider the girl in my graduating class who is going for law to be more than a couple points above the majority that is going for elementary ed. Yes, we do need both, but lets be real here, Elementary ed is no where near as hard as a law degree. I respect all them for going to school, but if she fenishes that law degree, I'll probably respect her more. Not for the job, but what she had to do to get it.

I was unaware that there were societal pressures on girls to be bad at math and science. Women that are good at math are sexy.

  5. I think we need good elementary teachers a LOT more than we need more fucking lawyers. And in a lot of states getting your teaching credentials is not trivial. For the most part, people going to school to become teachers are taking a significant financial sacrifice in favor of helping people become better, and this isnt commended nearly as much as it should be.

  7. Paul Frank is pretty cool, I like monkeys. The stuff is really overpriced though, I usually pick it up when it goes on sale. Happy Bunny is stupid, and most of the sayings on that stuff are pretty corny. I get most of my shirts from Threadless, Urban Oufitters and Busted Tees. My pet peeve is fat ass chicks with "Princess" or some other stupid saying on their 2 sizes too small shirt. Also chicks wearing 150 dollar sweatsuits who look like they have never worked out a day in their life.

I think they need to swap their pay.

Oh God, thanks for saying that...as I HATE it also (Whats up with fat chicks with the words on their asses?!). But the sweatsuits are startign to phaze out (Thank God)...

  10. Those stupid sweatpants with words on the ass, I can't STAND those. 'Princess' 'Hottie' and all that shit. When I played lacrosse, the team got sweats with their last names on their ass. It looked retarded (glad I bought mine blank). Worst current trend out there.
