G4TV:Take the Plunge?

If you keep trying you're bound to get one or two things right.

This, of course, is difficult for a longtime print and online columnist to say.

That's because they don't WANT to say it. They don't believe it. The review also says they don't use as many cliche's as they used to. This may be true, but they still have a long way to go. I heard Morgan Webb use the term "frothing demand" on their E3 coverage deal.

I wouldn't bother with G4, at all. It's by far, the worst network on cable, IMO. X-Play's really the only show worth watching, as all of the other shows lack inspiration or common sense.

As for Judgment Day, I'm very convinced that they don't actually play the games before they review (see the Ikaruga review) them.

Morgan Webb is hot. And so is that guy from Attack of the Show...but he's gone now Supposedly to start his own webshow with past members of techtv? That will be interesting, but will probably fail.

Oh well...

And yeah, the commercial mentioned above is the best thing ever.

Sex. I need to check it out. They even have a psp format, which is pretty cool. Kevin is so neat!

I'm going to be keeping an eye on SYSTM.org. Kevin Rose was a good host and focused more on a lot of hardcore modding and stuff like that. I found it a lot more interesting and knowledgable than anything Attack of the Show does.

If G4 didn't come in and completely ruin all of the old Tech TV shows it could be a pretty decent network.

Fresh Gear, Tech News, The Screen Savers, Unscrewed, X Play, Attack of the Show, Judgment Day, Reviews on the Run, Icons, Electric Playground and Call for Help would be a great lineup of shows.

The best worst commercial on G4 is that god forsaken Westwood College Online ad were the two guys are jamming on the controllers and the boss walks in and goes "Are you guys done testing this game? I have another game I need designed" to which they reply "We're almost done with level 2, now we just need to tighten up the graphics". There are so many things wrong with this commercial on so many levels.

I never watch G4 but one day I stoped on it to see what was going on there and...

it was that commercial. That was the last time I went to that channel.

The guy that delivered that line, looked like he was trying to keep a straight face while doing so.

What I hate about these commercials, is that everyone is talking about how they are getting paid to play videogames. Isn't that the job of game testers?

Because you can't spit in Texas and not hit a game developer who won't tell you that the commercial is as full of shit as it seems and that you're trashing on your ass watching G4 a bunch you probably won't find yourself working with videogames except for selling them at TRU.

Yeah, sure. It's all "HEY GETTING PAID TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES LOL" at first . . for a little while at least.

Then 6 weeks later and you're still on the same version of Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue that you were when you started.
