!!!!!!!
Guitar Wolf fans know about Wild Zero, the movie that only doesn't suck when the rockin' leather-clad threesome are on-screen. Less known, however, is their guest starring role in another crap movie, The Sore Losers. Made back in 1997, it's campy, super low-budget, and like Wild Zero, it's worthless unless it's Guitar Wolf scene.
As far as I know, it was issued on DVD a while ago and has since gone out of print. From what I've read the transfer on the DVD was horrible and the disc itself shipped with a glitch that caused it to lock up. However, The Sore Losers has recently popped up on one of those cheesy "4 movies for $10" box sets.
Yeah, I normally wouldn't look twice at such a retarded cover either, but I heard TSL was on there in a review, so whatever. The transfer was supposed to be loads better and the lock-up glitch removed. First of all, if the transfer was was actually improved, then I'd hate to see what the old transfer looked like- this looks like Sega CD video. At least it didn't lock up on me but I almost wish it did, the movie's so bad.
The plot is a total mess, but I'll try to explain it. It's basically about this alien that comes to Earth and starts killing hippies, but some chick kills some too and for some reason they're added to the alien's death toll and now he's killed too many and is in trouble, so he has to kill someone else to make up for it, and I want to kill somebody myself by now. But then things improve because Guitar Wolf shows up, playing the "Men in Black." They're after this chick that's hanging around the alien for some reason I didn't care about. They're only in the movie for a total of 10 minutes or so but any scene they're in totally rules.
So, if you want to watch Guitar Wolf comb their hair, ride in a Knight Rider-like muscle car, the dearly departed Billy chug what appears to be a never-ending can of beer, and Seiji attack a man with his laser beam eyes(!), this is the movie for you. Just keep in mind that the other 90% of it is shit.

As bad as The Sore Losers is (though it's worth getting for Guitar Wolf), the other three movies in the set look worse.
BTW, I also picked up the Guitar Wolf "Red Idol" DVD a month or two ago at Tower Records for $15. It's basically music videos (the video for God Speed You! is awesome), live concert footage, and interviews. Good stuff. It was released here by Narnack Records.

Is that red motorcycle picture available as a poster? I would love to rock that on a wall.
Haven't seen a poster of that. GW's official site has a few different posters for sale, however.

I found the set at the Suncoast in Broadway Mall when I stopped there with TrialSword on a whim. The EB down the hall has a shitload of RedOctane Taiko Drums. Crazy.
Dole, would you reccomend watching the entire movie or skipping to Guitar Wolf?
There are no words to describe this movie.
There are NO. WORDS. I have no words.
But, there are boobs. Big ones at that.
