Thread: Six Feet Under

  1. Six Feet Under

Starting tonight (6/6) is the 5th and final season of Six Feet Under. HBO is having one of their free weeks right now, so I think everyone should have access to it. I apologize for sounding like an advertisement.

Six Feet Under is my favorite show of all time, and while I'm sad it will be over soon, I'm glad both it and The Sopranos aren't being dragged on past their prime. In fact, I think the Season 4 finale might have been the best episode yet. I'm having a hard time thinking of how they are going to top it, but I've thought that before and the writers always seem to come up with something new. Alan Ball said something will happen this season that will ensure that Six Feet Under could not continue, so obviously something huge is gonna happen.

Anyone else wanna geek out over this fine piece of programming?

  2. Six Feet Under is one of those shows that I've really tried to like, I've watched a ton of episodes and seen the story archs come and go, and the thing that I don't like about this show is that, just like the Sopranos, there is a lot of fluff and build up that never really pays off, the show just spins its wheels and goes nowhere and you just end up feeling like you've wasted your time (although I will admit I liked how the last season ended).

But, although I do find this show to be rather dull, I'll probably end up watching it anway.

Yes. Yes I do. I agree with you that it is one of the best shows on television. I love this show.

It is a little soap-opera-ey for me, as is the Sopranos, but very few shows aren't. I am such an HBO addict, it really is sick.

  4. All of my favorite premium cable shows are either over, or almost done. Carnivale is over, Queer as Folk (shut up) is in its final season, The Sopranos is almost done, and this is almost done.

  5. This is one of those shows that I like, but wouldn't recommend to any of my friends. It's not that it isn't good, it's just hard to pinpoint what it is that makes it good. Oddly enough, it's the only current show I watch that isn't comedy.

  6. As soon as SFU is over, I'm canceling my HBO. Because they canceled Carnivale.

OK. It happened. That was pretty heavy, I had the chills for like 5 minutes.

This season has been a bit off and on, but when its been on its been great, with the season premiere being my favorite episode, followed by this most recent one.

  8. Perfect timing, I just finished watching the episode in question, and I'm pretty happy with what I saw, because I never liked that guy and I liked the fact that something monumental actually happened.

  9. Yeah, when that happened I was expecting the credits to roll (another cliffhanger, *sigh*), but his name on the screen was like a slap to the face.

I expected this to happen though, I just thought it would happen closer to the end of the season.

    Really?
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  10. How can you not like him? Hes my favorite non-animated character in TV history. A few eps ago when he started talking about how he wanted to be buried in the ground I got the feeling it was gonna happen, but even if you expect it, it still hits you hard.

I like the way it ended. He seems to finally begin to see things differently and makes this huge decision, but then...
