Mr and Ms Smith - Official Thread

Well, This movie hits theaters nationwide today, and I havent seen an official thread for it yet (and old thread since then went the way of the dinosaurs), so I making a new one.

All I can say, this movie looks like carefree summer blow the shit up and laugh about it type of flick, and thats exactly what I am looking forward seeing. From the impressions and reviews I have read for it, it does a decent job delivering just that. Pit and Jolie look hot on the screen and have good chemistry together, action is relentless, Vince Vaugn is a good comic relief, and director does a competent job staging and presenting the action.

Film did suffer some editing before release, especialy a steamy bed scene of Pitt and Jolie having some fun, and apparently it was done due to subdue and sooth the aproar of the fans of Pitt's soon to be former wife. Rather dumb if you ask me.

Anyway, I will be seeing this tomorrow, as for now, here are some of the clips from the film:

I've been looking forward to this. A puff summer action piece with Brad Pitt, who yeah, I really like. He's been in an asston of great movies like Seven and Fight Club, he's fun to watch.

Plus it looks sort of like an update/tribute to True Lies.

Plus shit gets blown up. It's going to be stupid, but it oughta be fun. Seeing it tonight.

While it does not look awful or anything, it just looks really uneventful. It looks like a zillion other action films of its ilk, but with BRAD AND ANGELINA! Its a DVD watch at most for me I guess.

I thought the movie looked great from the trailers I saw last year, because it looked like it had a dark theme to it. The cut of the trailer I saw had violine music and classy music dispersed in the cuts. I hope the movie is good, because I like the over-the-top premise, but these new trailers made it lose a lot of steam for me.

edit: I see Ebert gave it three stars. He gives everything three stars nowadays. He should write for Rolling Stone, really - he'd fit right in.

You're right, it does look stupid as hell, but I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for. I mean shit, it's a summer action comedy. I'll see it.
